That may well be it. In any event, the Redbird I use has been recently upgraded to XP 11.55 and the stock 430/530 is awful (I use it all the time at home and just deal…).

The Redbird I use clearly boots up the RealityXP software when it loads the 530.

Note I am currently in the same boat (with even less hours!) and no, you can’t use a Redbird by yourself to count toward the 50 hours (that has to be with an authorized instructor).

For folks flying IFR in MVFR/VFR conditions, do folks generally wait till TPA to turn (particularly if the first turn is against standard traffic, e.g. you need to turn right)?

XP11, HC Alpha/Bravo, FlightSimbuilders 530, PilotEdge (very important) and my IFR training went a lot faster as a result. All on 20.04 LTS.
