Why are ODPs not required in IMC?

I would be deeply honored. LOL!

Do all approaches get re-evaluated during a site survey?

I totally agree with this assessment. But it would still be nice for more TERPS literature to come out for pilots. Where can you take TERPS classes?

Do all approaches get re-evaluated during a site survey?

Actually, looking at the document, can you explain the survey matrix? For example, for thresholds, non-precision is not required?

Do all approaches get re-evaluated during a site survey?

Yeah, 8260 is a tough one without any help. I'd love to learn and write about it to be honest.

Do all approaches get re-evaluated during a site survey?

What are the steps generally speaking of a site survey? Is there a document or reference material to read about the subject? I've always thought a good book about TERPs is sorely lacking in the industry.

Do all approaches get re-evaluated during a site survey?

It was. On phone. EDIT: On computer, corrected.

Do all approaches get re-evaluated during a site survey?

So basically even though a site survey had been completed, the new data still has to trickle through the TERPS process before the NOTAM can be lifted. And that can take a couple of years? Correct?

Do all approaches get re-evaluated during a site survey?

For any of the TERPS folks out there: What is the process for a site survey? Do all approaches need to be reevaluted? What about obstacles? I ask because my home airport (N51) for instance had 04's threshold modified. As a result, a Safety NOTAM was issued to restrict straight-in minimums on...

Piper Dakota needs 8 primes to start?

Have you ever replaced the nozzle?

Piper Dakota needs 8 primes to start?

I guess that is par for the course. Really strange given the POH.

Piper Dakota needs 8 primes to start?

Funny you mention that @brcase. It does have a short primer pump and I am now wondering if it is the stock one or has been replaced. Note: I'm 99% sure we had the o-rings checked and the nozzles cleaned but I'll ask.

Piper Dakota needs 8 primes to start?

Plane is a 1977 Dakota PA28-236 and in order to start the O540 in it, the plane needs like 8 primes to get it going. I find this very strange. Yes, I wait for the bowl to fill and yes, it will start with three chugs of the manifold while cranking (and yes, I don’t want to start a fire). Anyone...

I’ve found references to the PAPI. But does anyone know who invented the VASI?

Where do East Coast pilots hang out?

We’ve grown now to about ~40 pilots. If people are still interested in hanging out online, I’ll send a link to the Discord channel.l if you PM me.

    VOR Only Instrument Flying

That’s really good practice. Not sure if it’s good for an IPC though (folks are already very nervous).

    VOR Only Instrument Flying

The cost of any WAAS based IFR certified GPS may save your life one day. I think that’s worth it if you ask me.

Ever Overfly the NYC Macy Day’s Fireworks?

I thought so too Brad but then I saw a YouTube video of a guy doing it (and talking to ATC) so….

Ever Overfly the NYC Macy Day’s Fireworks?

It’s a day to appreciate all things William H. Macy. Yeah, my phone botched the title but it seems people got the gist.

Ever Overfly the NYC Macy Day’s Fireworks?

Anyone do the Skyline during the Macy’s Day Fireworks show? Just curious if its worth it.
