What's the reason he is heading back there? I read your post as routine - Pilot checking on passengers (or jumpers). That would not happen. Jumper's chute gets hung up on the plane somehow? Maybe. Pilots of jump planes, my understanding, wear a chute too.

Honest question - any concerns about jumpers away @masloki or @kaiser ?

What do y'all do with younger kids? 6-12 ish? Old enough to be very curious but young enough that I'm not confident gun safety discussion is enough . . .

@Ted you are living a dream! Even if different from folks here. Can I ask - what is your day job? Seemed like the rescue might have been full time but to support a twin, the shop, RVs race cars and a family . . . I want to learn how to do what you do.

C81 has a pretty rough paved runway. Not sure about the grass. All the way back in the mid 90s when working on my ppl we were told not to land at C81 (but we weren't allowed to rent after dark without a CFI either - as PPL).

So you got your wings back and wife and kids were comfortable going! Huge win, IMO. To say I'm envious is an understatement. You are living the dream my friend! Safe travels and blue skies.

I've had a nightmare where I witness the crash. Small GA plane (Skyhawk? Definitely a Cessna) spinning into a playground at school. Also have one where a large transport plane (I think 747 because it has 4 engines) on fire headed towards my event. I've had it where I'm in the city and the burbs...

Trying to create a partnership has been difficult getting a few folks to agree on (1) an airport, (2) hangar vs tie down and (3) type of plane but really . . . Committing funds to start something vs join something that already exists.

@steingar are you near Chicago? I've wanted a Mooney since seeing one do a low pass while pre flighting for a lesson back in 1991 . . . It's always just out of reach with life goals (3 kids approaching college age).

I remember practicing no flap landings because my flaps had "failed" in primary and flight reviews. I don't recall ever practicing full flap go arounds. Full flaps in the 160hp Warrior with CFI and me would climb, IIRC. Barn door flaps in a C150 with just 1 on board wouldn't climb? What do...
