    Lien Issue

Assuming a California bank, contact the California Secretary of State to discover who assumed the liabilities and assets of that lien holder. Good luck! Had to knock one of these out of my first plane. Paul

Probably will get a right downwind to the left runway, traffic permitting. When SoCal hands you off to the tower, tell tower your FBO choice on initial call, or they'll have to ask you... Paul

    Passed my BasicMed exam- butt---

It's a graduated scale by decade. You're quoting my message from six years ago,,, the standards evolve over time. You need to do your own reading, because unfortunately, many physicians aren't good at interpreting statistics. Making decisions based on average population outcomes sucks if you...

Governor signs ban on 100LL into law

Ban takes effect in 2031, so one year buffer on the EPA 2030 date. Feelgood legislation? Maybe... Paul

California is a governor's signature away from banning 100LL in 2031

At Vitol's blend plant in Baton Rouge, 10,000 gallon quantities. For local sourcing, ask the four distributors why they're collaborating to resist distribution... note they are collectively (!) litigating in California to prevent distribution. This hasn't escaped the notice of antitrust...

California is a governor's signature away from banning 100LL in 2031

Hmmm. Vitol already made 1.3 million gallons. And majors are in discussions to make more. Paul

California is a governor's signature away from banning 100LL in 2031

Their specification is on their website... that's not very cagey... That's not accurate. Most of the avgas producers have read the spec and had discussions with GAMI. Nor is one required, both per FAA and federal regulation. Yes, that was a surprise, despite contractual agreements. Public...

California is a governor's signature away from banning 100LL in 2031

Yes, it's a compromise. The initial bill banned leaded avgas in communities over ~300,000 people starting in a couple years. The 2031 date was considered harmonization with EPA/FAA's 2030 target. Paul

California is a governor's signature away from banning 100LL in 2031

I do recall... but introduction of unleaded was NOT a ban on leaded fuel... there was a 20 year difference between those dates. Paul

California is a governor's signature away from banning 100LL in 2031

It's only been 30 years since lead was banned in mogas in California... maybe you're thinking of the beginning of lead phase down? That was 1990 for avgas, nationwide. Paul

    10:1 detonation

Yes, that engine will detonate on mogas. The leak down test tells you if the rings will prevent excess blow by... the impact on effective compression ratio is very small, as the short, high pressure combustion event's peak pressure will NOT be appreciably affected by even very leaky rings. Paul

FAA Tells Pilots To Go Analogue As GNSS ‘Spoofing’ Incidents Increase

Ah, but if we're watching the consumer media, we are in terror. I think it's the movie, "The Computer Wore Tennis Shoes" that opens with a 172 in severe clear spinning into the ground because someone spoofed his GPS. Hmmm... Scares people who don't know better, of course. Paul

    Printer w/ (auto) Duplex Scanning?

We're running two of the Epson external ink well (no cartridges) printer/scanners from Costco. The non-sheet feeder is off the kitchen. The sheet feeder one is in the office. Love 'em, and ink is cheap! Paul

    Plane Power alternator service/replacement

I think you're asking the wrong question. You don't want an overhaul, you want an IRAN, inspect and repair as necessary. Basically clean it up, take a look at the bearings (and replace if indicated) and replace the brushes. No overhaul required or desirable. Paul

N/A HVAC ECM blower motor not working

You can always install a PSC motor, but the constraint here will be convincing the rest of the electronics to play along... brute force is to replace the control system with generic, but that seems ugly. Paul
