Soooo basically the same thing happened. Took off, and wrestled it back to landing.

    COVID Vaccine (2)

This thread is a gong show... but count me in as the first in line for a vaccine. How can I not? I was exposed to a bat recently, took the rabies vaccine course...no big deal but guess what? Now I don't worry about vaccines. Vaccinated for tetanus, Hep A B, whatever the childhood ones are. No...

First time in the clouds and I gave up

It can indeed be unnerving. I totally relate to that feeling of sudden speed lol. Especially as you approach a cloud or layer, and then you are inside. Hand flying makes it more tough on the checkride. Autopilot is a real life saver in real IMC, and honestly for me it is a must. At least you can...

Wake me up when he tries to fly that thing again.... everything in between is just old news at this point lol

    Raptor Aircraft

The oscillations are wild... and you can see the stick vibrating and he is fighting to keep it controlled... super unstable... Hardly climbing at 100 knots so probably under powered. Winds were calm, conditions were great.... yikes.

    Raptor Aircraft

Man that looks shaky. The thing needs massive amounts of runway, looks unstable in the roll axis, and kind of looks like it is struggling to fly. Good on him though for living, and getting the airplane back on the ground. Could have easily been a smoking crater. Time will tell.

    Winter flying and frost

Wing covers are not bad. And turn your airplane so the sun hits the wings, but that takes forever. We have a spray bottle with glycol in it, buy it from the home drome. You can get heated battery blankets/aquarium or whatever to heat the fluid too. Works better when it is warm. The RV antifreeze...

    MSFS2020 Disappointment thread

Those scenery bugs will be worked out. There is AI that determines height, and what things look like. Globally, there are issues!

You Guys Every Fly in Proper Smoke?

I think it is worse... it stinks and gets into the cockpit too

    MSFS2020 Disappointment thread

I have quite a number of hours now in the new sim... There are MANY issues. I won't get into them all here. But default aircraft have always sucked. 3rd party will put out study level aircraft. Crashing to desktop, live weather with no winds... no way of using G1000/GPS properly. BUT they have...

    Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020

Even if you don't know the area! Just using a Maps app and my eyes I have flown from Vancouver BC to Northern Cali in a 172 in the sim... having done it in real life and using a map everything was there, and looks great in my opinion.

    Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020

I am thoroughly enjoying it! Default AC have always been for the masses... they are never great. But I am getting a ton of enjoyment out of it. Remember, it is a long project, it will take time to optimize, and I am sure they will fix the stuff that is broken... and there is alot of broken.

    Raptor Aircraft

As a builder, if you engage with a professional test flight program, it would be good to follow their advice. If I am building the aircraft and over a series of months the pilots are telling me the airport is not suitable, then it is not suitable. Drop in the bucket cash wise to move it. The...

Not a Bo driver, but I would say those numbers are pretty good... you should be happy!

    Best Simulator Ever?

I used the Alsim for IFR training. Think in the 10 grand range. It actually messed with me when in VMC. It tricks you to feel like you are moving, yet with no actual motion it feels very wrong. Don't feel that way in full motion sims. You get used to it, but it was not pleasant at first.

OK, so I had to buy something...

There was one for sale at my home drome... very tempting, I was starting to dream of open cockpit, low and slow flying... nice one.

Got a call from work yesterday....

Our case count count is rising... we have all been working from home perfectly well. If we NEED to go in, we can go in. For some reason our company wants everyone back, pack them into the cubicles. Makes no sense to me, why the rush?
