And eventually it gets to the point that the candles on your birthday cake cause the fire department to show up to put out the forest fire.

    Replacement Suggestions for King KX-155

I almost bought a KX155, untill I ran accross a KX125 for the same money. I got the 125, and never even thought about a 155 again. The 125 does everything the 155 does, plus it has it's own CDI display. Mine also has glideslope because it will interface with the KI214 and KI211 indicators that...

    Shade tree mechanic strikes again

Back to the Adel clamp vs Zip tie; The zip tie is about a 1/4" wide, and the adel is about 1/2"-5/8" wide. Therefore the adel covers more area, and when tightened properly is less likely to be vibrated around, than the zip tie. After all a length of rib lacing cord will effectively saw off a...

    Adjustable-pitch vs. constant speed prop

My Taylorcraft had a Beech-Roby on it at one point. The guy that installed it filed a 337 for the install. (not needed, per TCDS it only needed a logbook entry) Now it no longer complies with the LSA rule.

    Continuous pre-heat

You don't need to go flying if you have a fuel leak. A hair dryer will point out that leak if you don't know about it, so it can be repaired prior to flight. ;)

    CAR3 certified aircraft in a 2022 world

Era correct is fine, but what I have folks wanting me to do is make their early muscle car (60's-'70s) into a 2023 luxury car. Like taking a 1969 ZL1 Corvette, and turning it into a computer controlled nightmare. IMHO it's sacrilege. ;)

    Do I have to

Not talking to them is not obstructing. It is not cooperating, but not obstructing. Talking, and giving misinformation could be considered obstruction, but seldom is prosecuted as such.

    CAR3 certified aircraft in a 2022 world

I bought a set of approved seat belts from Wag, they were far from $600. Seems to me it was about $60/seat.

    CAR3 certified aircraft in a 2022 world

What izzit with all this "Resto-Mod" stuff? Especially with a vehicle which is one of only 36 left in the world. I just don't understand taking a (what I'm working on ATM) '70 Chevelle SS 427 4speed. and installing an LS3 Tuned port (FiTech ) with 4l60E, push button shift, push...

    Repainting a Taylorcraft?

The logs will (should) tell you when the Poly Fiber was installed, and what coating was used. The key ingredient here is when, as there was a time when the Poly Fiber STC was only good using the whole system (Stits). Nowadays, the topcoats can be Dope, Stewart system, or any of several others...

Chrysler had one (Hollow crankshaft) in the 40's-50's. Never had a problem with it.

Get a model T sparkplug wrench, and be done. But you could probably just get the socket from AS cheaper.

    Fuel options

And the problem stems from the lack of ability to create an unleaded fuel to meet the ASTM requirements of aircraft fuel. because in order to meet that requirement, it must contain lead. That said, all my aircraft have a requirement for 80/87 octane. With the car gas STC I can run regular...
