Getting back into it (IFR advice)

 He finally went full time doing it. He used to only do it once a month.

Getting back into it (IFR advice)

The instructor I did my IPC with a couple of years ago does numerous accelerated 7 day instrument ratings a year. He gave me a sheet of paper with things to do after the IPC and the first one on the list was file IFR on your next 20 flights even if it's VFR in order to get used to being in the...

    Here's another I don't understand.

A Oxford comma doesn't change the ad at all. There is a comma after accelerated, which means they offer accelerated. Then IPC and BFR. The Oxford comma would be after IPC, and it really doesn't change the ad. Anybody that knows what a comma is for (no offense to the OP) should understand it's...

The Eclipse has a new home....

What does FAA think about high cholesterol?

Not an insignificant number in light of such a ‘benign’ act.

What does FAA think about high cholesterol?

He didn't die 'from just falling down'. He died because he hit his head on concrete when he fell down. Yes, people die from that no matter what their age even if they are healthy.

Using timers on instrument check ride

Then I would not suggest using a transponder without a timer.

    Suitable iPad for Foreflight

I have the cellular one, but don't have cellular service and you don't need it. You get the cellular because it has the built in GPS. Wifi only doesn't. We had a thread on this not too long ago and you'll have some tell you to get the one with the GPS and others tell you that you don't need it.

I hate it when that happens.

    Private cross country requirements

You don't for XC that counts toward your ratings. But once you're done with those, say to qualify for part 135 minimums you can count all flights where you landed at another airport even if it's under 50NM. It's called 'point to point'. So you could log it as point to point XC to go back later...

    Commercial cross country requirements

When I did my private pilot long solo it was a required 300NM (before '97. I didn't realize they had done that until I read what you wrote. I just assumed they reduced it to 150NM for some reason, but didn't realize they moved it to the commercial). I can't remember how long one of the legs had...

As a note the long xc can be with an instructor now. But he's basically just supposed to be an observer.

Cheapest planes to rent at PDK

I actually belong to that club, but I haven’t flown there in awhile. They now require renters insurance which I don’t have yet. KHMP is actually only about 20 minutes from my current house. PDK is right around the corner from my mother in law so I was trying to find something there so I wouldn’t...
