Horsepower required for same airspeed at higher altitude

Okay, so your 70% number is close to what I got using 3% loss per 1,000 feet, but then it sounds like you'll need a higher-than-desirable RPM to achieve that. Regardless, that's not really the information I'm after, but still good to know/learn.

Horsepower required for same airspeed at higher altitude

I read that you lose 3% per 1,000 feet, so that gives about 75% at 10,000 feet. That's what I'm going off of. Obviously, I could be missing something.

Horsepower required for same airspeed at higher altitude

If I need a 75% power setting for max cruise at sea level (say, a 200-HP IO-360, so 150HP), will the same horsepower be required to maintain max cruise (indicated) at 10,000 feet, for example? So, in that case, I believe I would be using full throttle as that would give me about 150 HP, or 75%...

Part 2 Having landed at Woodland before a few times, I wasn't worried. Well, maybe a little about departing, but not enough to keep me from landing there. There happens to be a giant tree there and I parked in its shade. It may have been better than being in direct sunlight, but it was still...

Thread pitch of altimeter adjustment shaft?

On all my monitors (3 of them color corrected, 1 not), it looks black (although I didn't color correct the photo, so maybe the color isn't perfect). It's painted (and baked) aluminum. The paint is black.

    Field Service Station?

Did Flight Service Stations used to be called Field Service Stations? Like in the mid-20th century?

50 tpi. I think it's about right for a small knob like that.
