Hangar availability (and other questions) about Pittsburgh PA.

Whatever you do, don't come to Tennessee. It's awful here, just awful.

    I’m calling the peak

Hangar67 website has a list of planes with recent price changes. Interesting how most sellers that reduce prices are dropping 3-5%. Not enough to make a buyer move imho. I do think sellers are hoping it's a plateau, and buyers are hoping it's price adjustment time in the 10-20% range. Hangar 67

    For Sale Pipistrel Panthera $650k

Spoke with the Panthera/Textron rep at the show. Still experimental exhibition. No A/C option which is tough in the Southeast at that price point. And given Textron's history, you'd have to be comfortable with the knowledge they could pull the plug at any time. However, Pipistrel is their...

That doesn’t leave the rest of us much material to work with. Might as well shut down the Joke of the Day thread.

    any PHEV pireps?

Own a Tesla and a Rav4 Prime PHEV. The Rav4 is our long distance traveler. 30-50 miles pure electric, and then another 400+ miles range on the gas tank. So as a daily commuter we plug in the Rav4 every night, and then rarely fill the tank. And when we need to drive a long way with minimal...

Isabel Goyer goodbye? Where did it go??

I think Textron made an ESG purchase with Pipistrel. I would be shocked to see the Panthera survive, let alone develop into a better product.

Isabel Goyer goodbye? Where did it go??

She's right about the feedback from pilots about her pandemic coverage at Oshkosh. If I remember correctly, she did a lot of hand wringing about the lack of masks.

Is there ANY advantage to obtaining a SPL? (Or obtaining one as a stepping stone?)

I went sport to private, with a few years in between. One benefit is you fly a bit, and then you're back to training with a CFI again to get your private. I think that extra training/checkride after I had flown a while was good for me.

    Rental EV's - (lesson learned)

Range anxiety is common when you first drive an EV. It gets easier with time. Teslas are currently rented at major metros, so Tesla superchargers are not hard to find. And regular destination chargers (which work on Tesla) usually get about 30-40 miles an hour. So get back up on that horse...

    Cape Cod Homes

Never heard it called a Cape Cod either. But we lived in a Cape for over a decade. Pretty home, simple box with a fairly steep pitch roof, sometimes too steep so a dormer is put on the back to give you a full second story. Four rooms down, and then at least two upstairs. As to ranch homes...

I've had the twin hornet for 4 years. Great unit. Nice long cord that stays flexible even in cold weather.
