The one then the other. We were also hampered by being single engine (half propulsion).

    Tomato soup (¡NAǃ)

I've actually heard of people who make tomato soup by adding water to ketchup. I once survived on that soup and grilled cheese sandwiches made with lard instead of butter for 11 days. I was on a submarine, and due to a series of unfortunate circumstances, we ran out of food. I like to refer to...

Finding someone to do maintenance on a Grumman Cheetah/Tiger?

Beware of leaky fuel tanks and that nose gear thingy that @SixPapaCharlie mentioned. If those things are good to go, cop the shades and pull the canopy back to the mark because it is a sweet little plane. I will always be a fan of the top loaders fo sho. Seriously, leaky tanks should probably...

    Thinking about a Bus/RV

The wife and I recently began converting this little fella into an RV. 39 feet of blank canvas. It was a college campus transit before we bought it a few weeks ago.

Mike Patey PT-6 Explosion on way to OSH

At least he didn't jump out of a perfectly good airplane with a fire bottle attached to his leg.

    Student Pilot Fuel Exhaustion

I have a disproportionate amount of night flying time, and the majority of that was well after midnight. I never knew that I suffered from poor ADM. Is there a medication for that? Who do I talk to, my PCM? Flight Doc? Shrink?

    Cheap airplane not so cheap

Oh boy. I once bought a cheap plane. The first annual bill was more than the purchase price.

Another snowflake traumatized by routine go-around

You reminded me of my initial instrument check ride in my .mil job. I was rapidly approaching KMOB at 6000 patiently waiting for a decent to shoot an ILS. The decent came way too close and they were about to vector us back for another try when the IP (with 4000 hours in type) had me request a...

Another snowflake traumatized by routine go-around

Years ago I had a window seat on a SWA cattle car. I looked out my plexiglass of bliss and saw KAUS lit up in all its glory. I figured we were on about a 3-mile base to one of the parallels and still at least 5000 feet. My first thought was that this was an odd VFR routing for a 121 type to...

So. Should all airplanes have dark wings then?

Did anyone else think of this when they read the subject line? No, just me? Fine.
