    Bo down Pembroke Pines, FL

All these years and I never knew that. Never once heard actually. Learn something new every day. But honestly far as I can remember, never had the experience in any plane I've flown of setting trim to takeoff, then holding Vx and realizing 'hey what'd ya know, it flies hands off at this speed...

A more realistic test IMO would have been to set trim to takeoff position and hold stick pressure for Vy, Vx or some other arbitrary climb attitude which is what quite a few pilots are doing just off the runway below pattern altitude. If you did it that way, I suspect getting the nose quickly...

Your point is valid, but your example is poor IMO. If 30% of the existing GA fleet were not equipped with cockpit-adjustable trim, you'd have a great point AND and a great example. But I'd dare say less than 5% of the GA fleet lacks cockpit-adjustable trim. If someone said everyone should take...

How fast can I go for $50k

I've flown both. Front seat is about the same. Both could use an extra few inches of width and and extra few inches of length to the panel IMO, but neither was particularly uncomfortable for me.

Which portable GPS do I need?

I've had more than one dedicated aviation GPS develop issues and let me down mid flight. These days I wouldn't bother with anything other than a tablet and a paper chart as a backup. If you really want more of a back up than that, spend another $150 and buy a 2nd tablet to keep in the flight bag...

    Boeing 747-8 or Boeing 747-800?

That brings back memories of my sim pilot days at the tech center at KACY

Got first doze of Pfizer today

Got my 1st Pfizer yesterday morning. Had the slightest headache around dinner time. A couple advil took care of it. Feel fine today. Fingers crossed the 2nd dose ends up being the same.

Door to door air cargo… By a private pilot??

I would agree with this *IF* John Q Public placed the order with the pizza place for delivery to John Q Public's address on the island. If John Q Public ordered a pizza for delivery to Ace 'Boy-Wonder' Pilot at BFE Regional Airport, then the pizza place charged for what they provided and nothing...

Below anything close to 1000ft, straight ahead down 9th is probably what I'd plan. No power lines but its narrow with lots of trees so probably wouldn't be pretty. But better to try to fly it between the trees than stall/spin into whatever spot you happen to run out of speed over IMO.

Door to door air cargo… By a private pilot??

My first date with my wife I flew to an airport near where she lived, picked her up and flew her to another airport for lunch. I was definitely hoping for some, ahem, 'goodwill'.

Door to door air cargo… By a private pilot??

The commercial is definitely worth getting IMO even if you never intend to fly for dollars. That being said and I'm sure you already know this but its worth mentioning for those who don't know, just getting a commercial cert will not enable a pilot to legally hold out for on-demand flights...

Has anyone ever taken builder classes?

I did the sportair sheet metal basics class just before everything closed down last year. Covid put a crimp in my planned schedule so I'm still not building yet, but I thought the class was worth while for the price.

Door to door air cargo… By a private pilot??

As far as we know, no one in his local FSDO has any problem with what he's doing. Beyond that, lots of people have committed far worse sins in their past and still went on to find gainful employment in a pilot seat. And I'm still asking the same question which no one seems to be able to answer...

Door to door air cargo… By a private pilot??

If the pilot in question is going to be making the flight anyway and isn't charging anyone anything, sure. Why not? If I'm flying to visit family for the weekend and one of my in-laws asks me to pick up a case or two of Bell's Two Hearted for them and bring it with me in the plane for them, am...

Door to door air cargo… By a private pilot??

Pizza joints don't deliver to people, they deliver to addresses. If a pizza was ordered to be delivered to the pilot at the airport and a delivery fee was charged, that fee was for ground transport to the pilot. The pizza joint is out of the equation at that point and they do not know nor care...

The Mooney Johnson bar system is about as dirt simple as retractable gear can get. You'll have to replace donuts every so often and it'll have to go up on jacks for a gear swing every annual. But if we're talking a manual gear C model, I wouldn't expect the gear to add more than a buck or two...

Door to door air cargo… By a private pilot??

Well pizzas aren't exactly health food so I suppose a case could be made for putting the public in danger that way but lucky for him, the FAA's reach doesn't cover enabling the poor dietary choices of people that aren't the pilot. ;)

The M20C is not high performance but it is complex. That being said, you might want to talk to a few agents and get a few quotes before you assume insurance will be a deal breaker. I had just over 100 hours and zero complex when I got into an M20C and insurance wasn't terrible.
