Banner plane lands on bridge around 26N

Many years ago I pulled banners for a different company off a grass strip a few miles from where this happened. That company had quite a reputation back then. During one of the seasons we got to be occasional drinking buddies with a couple of their pilots. Everybody gets a nick name and we nick...

    Flying right seat

Lots of possibilities with a flying club. Could have had a member bend an airplane while flying safety pilot because he or she did the landing and botched it up not necessarily because of being in the right but more because he or she just sucked at landing. Could be a club president or safety...

    Flying right seat

I did a bunch of time right seat as safety pilot for a buddy who was working on IR. On a lot of those flights he would fly an approach or three under the hood, then he would hand me the foggles and I'd fly an approach right seat while I was there to keep my currency up. If it was the last...

Of course I am. Why would you assume otherwise?

    Not Aviation - Amazon rant

The point is they changed their mind. How many days weeks or months were you wandering around this hypothetical grocery store before you made it to the cash register. When it comes to television media and movies, things like copyright ownership comes into play. Someone owns the copyright to...

Banner plane lands on bridge around 26N

https://nj1015.com/banner-plane-lands-between-bridge-traffic-in-ocean-city-nj/ Nice job for an 18 year old who's probably a month into his first paid flying gig with ink still wet on his cert.

    Pushing/ pulling on the prop

I used to pull on the tow bar to move the plane until a CFI I was using saw me moving a 172 out of its hangar that way one morning. He asked if I'd ever had the tow bar slip off doing that. I had. Then he told me about how he broke his tail bone when a Cessna tow bar came off while he was...

    Wheel Landings?

I've known pilots who would 3 pt 95% of the time and only wheel land a handful of times per year and I've known pilots who would wheel land 95% of the time and only 3 pt'd a handful of times per year. In my experience, those who wheel land as a default can 3 pt when they need to and easily make...

    Thoughts on Vans RV?

You show me a 182RG that's selling for $80k in this market and I'll show you a plane that's very likely to need another $80k in maintenance before I'd put anyone I cared about in it.

    Thoughts on Vans RV?

Agreed. My wife often does 4 day business trips with nothing more than a carry-on bag. Her co-workers will sometimes show up with multiple large suitcases for the same trip.

Should I bother with sport license if I can't buy a plane?

Allow me to offer a perspective you may not have considered. Learning to be a pilot was one of most rewarding and memorable things I've ever done. Note that I didn't say being a pilot, I said learning to be a pilot. Yes I did lots of flying after I got my certificate and enjoyed quite a bit of...

    Thoughts on Vans RV?

Van's Aircraft Builders is a private group on FB. Earlier today someone posted a very nice looking VFR RV6 for $75k. Seller is a CFI and is offering TW checkout if needed. I doubt the plane will still be for sale come Monday. Link below, but I'm not sure it will work if you're not a member of...

I would agree. Although to be fair a short-body Mooney would also be very good choice for the OP's mission.

New to PoA; Tips for first passenger?

My tips in no particular order. No means no. If you get to the end of runway and the pax decides they no longer want to fly, no means no. Don't try to talk them into it. Don't try to pressure them into it. Turn around and taxi back in and don't give them any grief for it. No steep turns unless...

    Overnight Fee Attached To Prop

Don't remember a single crash as a result of the practice. Well there you have it. Obviously it caused so many crashes so frequently that they've all run together in your memory and you can no longer remember any one particular crash. No wonder people are upset. :stirpot:

    Overnight Fee Attached To Prop

I think the sooner you call the airport management and voice your safety concern to them, the sooner they can assure you they appreciate your concerns and will never do it again. And then promptly hang up and forget the conversation ever took place.

    Overnight Fee Attached To Prop

I think I'd consider myself very lucky if everything else in my life was going so well that someone leaving an envelope on my prop was the thing I felt I needed to gripe about.
