PA-28 emergency landing on Mesa AZ freeway

Looks like he was doing T&G"s until something happened on a takeoff. Very nicely executed landing given only about 500 ft AGL. https://flightaware.com/live/flight/N8923J

C172 sole occupant survives crash landing near Stellar Airpark 5/9/21

There are no power lines near the *proper* approaches to the runway, and even the freeway lights south of the runway are very very short compared to others in the area. The wreckage is situated where the red circle is on this maps image. [edit] It's also very possible, even very likely now...

You can hear the plane hit something just prior to its appearance in frame. Tree? Power line? Who knows.

This video raises a question about wake turbulence...

Let's talk about the economic impact of putting yourself in a situation requiring an emergency landing, rolling equipment, diverting aircraft, just...because? What a ********.

    When Barnstorming goes Bad

Some of the titles on the videos out there say it was a Mexican drug cartel plane, but it seems more likely he was with family/friends, swooped low over the homestead, and caught a powerline, luckily able to put it down in a nearby field with no/minor injuries. Luck. Kee.

Isn't POA grand? No matter what the incident, before the end of the 2nd page of discussion, it's devolved into a dick-measuring contest over what the meaning of the word "is" is.
