KHTO might be looking to close?

The definition of "rich" is similar to the definition of "old". ;) Someone is old if they are 20 years or more older than yourself. Someone is rich if they are X times wealthier than yourself; I'm not sure what multiplier the X is, but I've heard the "20+ years" stated previously.

KHTO might be looking to close?

It's set to close and then reopen as a private airport. Nice to be a billionaire. https://nypost.com/2022/01/18/east-hampton-airport-to-reopen-as-private-tarmac-for-the-rich/

    Any economists here?

I shifted to buying used as well. The last new car I bought was around 2000 and I was looking at used, but the interest rates made buying new a better deal. Held onto that car for 13+ years. Current car I bought "certified used" with extra warranty built into the "certified used" program, and...

    Any economists here?

Loan costs are baked into cars in a similar manner as credit card fees are baked into retail prices. Nothing is for free. ;) It's just a matter of scale.

    Tesla Model 3 - Finally.

The big cities will definite look at promoting a shift to EVs. The vast majority of the pollution in Atlanta is from cars. I would suspect the same for many other big cities. We don't have much in the way of industry, especially heavy industry, so it completely makes sense that cars are the...

    Tesla Model 3 - Finally.

I've seen some options, but not sure about costs and how much they've been done. There are street charging systems. Something that would be put up where parallel parking is done. Some of the options drop down into the ground when not being used. To me that dropping/popping-up is just more...

    Tesla Model 3 - Finally.

I read an article recently where the author said kids born 2022 would never drive an ICE car as they largely won't be around. I think the author was extrapolating too much, but directionally correct. Depending upon your age, I think you'll see ICE cars becoming rather expensive to own and...

    Any economists here?

^ This Some of the zero interest rate promotions have a discount options for paying cash. Dealerships don't like that as they often get a cut from the loan. No loan, no cut.

    Tesla Model 3 - Finally.

Same for postal and package delivery cars/vans. Those in urban and suburban areas typically don't drive many miles each day. Mostly very slow, plus lots of start and stop (regenerative braking) on the postal cars, which works well for electric vehicles. Plus they are back at...

    GA recommendation for Miami?

I been to HWO before for a Miami trip. Much cheaper. I got a rental car there as we'd be driving around Miami.

It was me. :( Not used to flying VFR and screwed up. I set the altitude to my cruise altitude. *sigh* I was expecting to turn west sooner, but should have set it lower to start with. I saw a second before he said it, but too late. :( Wayne

The Van’s RV-10 - Is it the perfect airplane?

Epic. That may only be available as certified now. I'm not sure. Lancair Mako is currently available in both NA and turbocharged versions. Velocity is working on a six seater version. Wayne

Dang, sorry to hear that Ryan. My BIL got it over Thanksgiving and so did his 30 year daughter. It was mild for him, but worse for her. Both were vaccinated, I know she was boosted, but not she if he was or not. Totally disrupted their Thanksgiving plans. My SIL never got; or if she did she...

Thanks, I should have added that. South Ramp is marked on the airport diagram. The restaurant is in that area near the A taxiway. The self-serve fuel is over by the restaurant.

The Van’s RV-10 - Is it the perfect airplane?

My other limitation with an experimental plane is Angel Flight. That probably averages about 40% of my flying time. Mostly I just can't see having the time to build. Plus the space now that we've downsized to a townhome, and one with a tiny garage. I subscribe to Kit Planes and follow it...

The Van’s RV-10 - Is it the perfect airplane?

In 16 years of flying I still haven't piloted a plane out of the country. My plane has stickers for it. One of the partners has flown to the Bahamas a few times. From what I've been reading about Mexico I'll pass. Too much hassle. I've been there flying commercial and cruising, but I'll...

I'm bringing a friend along. I met him many years ago doing woodworking. He used to do some luthier work (guitars) as part of his woodworking. He now flies large remote controlled planes. A couple he has in a pic on FB he said have 55cc engines and 23" props.
