Etiquette for using a friends plane

Hi all. I've been blessed with an opportunity and just looking for your thoughts. I have a friend of a family member who just finished restoring their father's plane. It just so happens it is the same plane I have hundreds of hours in. He does not have his pilots license yet, but wants his plane...

    High blood pressure

This last year or so has not been so good, and I have put on some weight. I check my blood pressure monthly and noticed it was too high at my last check and then checked it every day for a few days since, and it is still too high. I have always had fantastic lower pressure, but am now 50. While...

    Upgrade comm?

While not cheap the PM3000 is not crazy expensive either. Thanks for the lead! Just what I was looking for.

    Upgrade comm?

I have a basic Sigtronics SPA-400 Intercom, 4 place. What would be the most economical way to be able to play music over the comm system, and then secondly, be able to isolate my PAX so they can have music, but I can talk to ATC without interruption, when I choose?

    Airspace bust enforcement?

Come on guys. I knew I 'd get a finger or two pointed at me, but this one was not me.

Passengers can't hear me, but I can hear them.

Found a broken wire at the co-pilot's headset plug which is the main lead from the comm that branches off to the other two passengers from there. Quick fix!

    Airspace bust enforcement?

I was recently flying around and would tune in the closest airport just to be aware of other air traffic and to sometimes report my position if I cross an approach path to one of those airports even though I was outside their airspace. Overheard on the radio: " VFR traffic squawking 1200, north...

Passengers can't hear me, but I can hear them.

I found a broken lead wire at the co-pilot jack for the headset input. Of course the other passenger jacks are wired to this jack, so problem solved! luckily it was not an expensive in-depth fix, but a 10-min solder job.

Passengers can't hear me, but I can hear them.

I have a Sigtronics SPA-400 4-place intercom. No problems on the last flight up to shutdown. Tonight, I could hear my passengers, but they could not hear me or the radio, nor each other, or themselves in their ear phones. All plugs were double checked, all radios and main power cycled to no...

    Multiple endorsements at once

Does the 990 NM ferry flight when I purchased my plane count even with a three day delay after the first 630 miles, for weather? Longest leg was 330 NM. Four landings total for the entire trip. I think I have that already covered! I'm just beginning to look into all of this, so forgive my lack...

    Multiple endorsements at once

I am a <100 hour private pilot and want to get my CFI. I understand I can get my CFI without IFR endorsement, although that will limit what I can do with my Commercial endorsement. My plan is to hit All three IFR, CFI, and Commercial at once. I'm struggling with how many flight hours each...

Plexi care, and caring for a fabric covered plane

First time plane owner. 1958 Tri-Pacer. I know I need to store the plane out of the sun and preferably in an enclosed hanger. What can I use to clean the window, and what should I avoid like the plague? Washing the plane, can I just use standard car wash soaps? How about waxing the plane, both...

Need a CFI on Friday(6/8) evening at BJC (Rocky Mountain Metro)

To close this thread, I found an awesome EAA member and CFI, Billy Mitchel, in Broomfield to give me 1.5 hours of instruction and sign off. I am home with the plane and still am trying to figure out how to land it, but at least I can get it down, although pretty ugly.

Need a CFI on Friday(6/8) evening at BJC (Rocky Mountain Metro)

It is likely I am buying a 1958 Tri-Pacer on Friday and meeting the seller at this airport for the pre-buy inspection. My insurance, for what ever reason is requiring a sign off from a CFI before I can fly PIC. They require the CFI to have 5 hours in a Tri-Pacer. I will of course fly with the...

Need to find someone to do a pre-buy inspection

I found one over at Rocky Mountain Metro Airport, so have this covered. Everyone at Front Range was booked solid.

Need to find someone to do a pre-buy inspection

I'm looking at a Tri-Pacer in the Denver Area on Friday, and want to have an IA or A&P do a thorough inspection on it while I'm there. How do I find one? Meeting at Front Range, but could fly it to another airport, I am sure.

    IFR Panel, but not certified

Hence my confusion on what I need in a plane to get my IFR endorsement. I've been researching more and more since I posted this question, and am understanding it better. Thanks for all the replies!

    IFR Panel, but not certified

I've been seeing aircraft for sale listed as VFR planes, but the panels look to be IFR. Just curious what I might be looking at to get it certified, or if I even need to if I'm using the plane to get my IFR endorsement.
