I used the same guy out of CRW Charleston WV for my ppl and ir. Kind of the same issue as above being a hour flight away though. His schedule was pretty easy to work with though for the most part.

We went up in actual a couple times when I was training. It is a sobering experience for sure. When I hit imc solo after getting my rating it still scared the **** out of me, but I had the confidence to tackle it thanks to being exposed to it while training.

I wonder the nature of the issue that a dermatologist would recommend gloves, but not anything for his arms or face. Isn't a pilot more likely for cancerous places, from the constant exposure to the sun, developing on their face?

Im thinking that January 15 date was his type rating in the 525, matching u with when bought that plane. He was Multi and rotorcraft rated. I read somewhere he was due for recurrent at SimCom in March. He was experienced.
