The Middle Aged Aviator - Rod Machado

Amen. We need higher standards for DRIVERS! I have to negotiate the local freeways with millineals and I can tell you they drive recklessly. And don't get me started on the "texters."

Flying Half Fast with Half Fast

I’d like to have an upgraded Yankee. Quick little two seater. The originals have a higher stall speed than later versions, due to the wing design, and are a little under powered. @Grum.Man owned one for years.

Well it was a good (almost) 10 years.

Buy a Luscombe, a Cub or an experimental with no electrical system. Stay below the B/C shelf, fly anywhere you want, just slowly. Hell, build a RV-whatever with no electrical system and fly faster.

Anybody still call for a brief?

Well, they nailed it today. Can't wait to get my 3600-lb LSA! Just typical spring wx. Merde.

    Two rough hours today

Sky was so beautiful and surface winds really low compared to yesterday, so I set out for my first spring XC. Thermals and crazy winds produced a (sometimes) tooth-jarring ride, but I saw it through. When the forecasters call for moderate turbulence, plan on it! Visibility was 50+ miles. Rare...
