Can I take my neurocognitive battery before I go to the physical?

Yeah that’s what happened to me. I’ve been working through issues caused by a casual “family Doc” ADD misdiagnosis and Adderall scrip in my past. On 11/1 got my letter stating they needed Cog Screen, as expected. Earliest appt I could get was 12/22. HIMS AME sent packet to FAA w my results...

That made my day. You are a stronger man than I. Long live the memory of Beckett, and what a way to honor him.

    I’m calling the peak

I bet by Fall there are a lot of planes on the market at 10%-20% lower asking prices. Already seeing people cut listed prices on planes that have been on the market a bit.

Disclosing prior medications for class 3 medical exam?

So let’s say I kept my mouth shut and misled. The ME signs me off and the paperwork goes to OKC. anyone in OKC check/validate the application vs readily available prescription/insurance records?

Disclosing prior medications for class 3 medical exam?

Lindberg- I went back and forth on that for a month or two. Finally decided that I’d rather disclose and deal with it than spend the rest of my flying life looking over my shoulder. I mean, I was on it for 10+ years so the scrip is all over everything. And the last thing I want to have to...

Disclosing prior medications for class 3 medical exam?

No I had been off Adderall for 6 months when I went in. So when I filled out the form and it asked me what I was taking I said nothing. And when it asked me what I had been diagnosed with I also said nothing. As I was never diagnosed to the best of my knowledge.

    Insurance question

Already did that. I’ve logged 25 hrs and have basically earned my BFR sign off. Pending medical of course. And I already have my instrument rating. Just waaaaay out of currency :) Sure the smart thing is keep renting and flying w my CFII but can’t help but think how valuable the hours and...

    Insurance question

Yep original Class 3 medical was in 1993. So no basic med for me. I’ve got 9-12 months to wait and test and then wait some more. meanwhile I’d like to be able to fly 6-8 hours/month working on IFR proficiency and general training w my CFII in the plane I’ll be flying after I’m done w all the...

    Insurance question

Hey y’all, let me know if this is common or if I’m crazy. Have PPL and IFR, 255 hrs, 25 in last 12 months all dual….the other 230 hrs was 27-29 years ago. All my time is fixed gears non-complex Decided over the winter it was time to get back into it…I quit back in the day because I ran out of...

Disclosing prior medications for class 3 medical exam?

I didn’t. Like some of you guys I interpreted the form as asking me what meds I was TAKING and what conditions I had been diagnosed with. IMO I was NEVER diagnosed with ADD. But that’s neither here nor there at this point. I took the meds for a decade. So it is what it is. Silver lining is...

Disclosing prior medications for class 3 medical exam?

I chose option 3. Like you I was never diagnosed ADD. I made a joke about it to my GP about 10 ago and he asked if I wanted to try Adderall. I guess the drug rep working him was cute or something. Got deferred now waiting for official FAA notification so I can start the process of the psych...

    G5's vs Steam Gauges

Same. I took 25 years off. 250 hours and IFR all w 80s tech (and LORAN!). Now back in it and I found the G5s in the 172 I started with were easier to get used to than the G1000s in the DA40 I’m flying now. Same as you I find myself fixating on all the data available. Ans switching between...

My journey to a 3rd class medical (neuropsychological evaluation)

Thanks. Super helpful. Looks like I have roughly 9 mos if things go well…. looks like we both got very casually prescribed. I remember being shocked he didn’t want me to take any tests or anything. It all happened in like 2 min. Literally.

My journey to a 3rd class medical (neuropsychological evaluation)

Hey Chris, thanks for sharing….I'm just now entering into the “process”…. My history is I got my PPL and IR in 1991/1992, bought a C172 with some friends, but then work and family and finances made me have to “take the money and run” when one of our partners offered to buy us out in late ‘93...
