Why is LPV not considered precision approach

Instrument Rating ACS clearly allows LPV to sub for the precision approach if the DA is below 300'...

Something weird happened - Mountain Wave in Central Kansas

the disturbance causing the wave doesn't have to be a mountain. I notice little wave systems like this pretty often, just above the thermal layer. Thermals in the lower layer pushing up into the inversion can cause some waviness in the inversion that could set off wave above that. In our glider...

    go-around on Cessna150

When I was teaching in 150's I would do a drag demo with my students early on. Similar to what we would do in multi engine airplanes to demonstrate the (lack of) performance with gear and flaps added. That usually got the point across that they shouldn't expect any climb performance with full flaps

FAA NPRM - Pilot Records Database

I think the issue with the Atlas FO was that the training that he had washed out on was technically pre-employment. So he had washed out of training, so they didn't hire him. Hence there was nothing for those carriers to report on a PRIA request because technically he never worked for them.

the CFI is not providing dual instruction but they are acting as an authorized instructor, so they get to log PIC.

Do I Log Scenic Tours as Dual Given?

I've never done any air tour work under a 119 exception. Does the LoA really allow you to let passengers take the flight controls??

    IACRA Solo time?

I wonder how many DPE's it will take, giving this answer, before it sinks in :)

    IACRA Solo time?

Solo is solo, put whatever your actual solo time is. The DPE just needs to see that your experience.meets the requirements for the certificate that you are applying for. For a commercial Multi (assuming you already have commercial single), that means basically a non zero number in the column...

Question about checking oil in 1982 Cessna 182rg

Used to have issues with oil seeming to creep up the tube, like a capillary effrct, resulting in false high readings, or thinking you were ok when you weren't. Learned to only trust the second check.

    Desperately seeking DPE

Cash doesn't bounce. How fat do you think flight student checking accounts are at the end of their training? I also accept Venmo/PayPal and have a Square chip reader for those who can't make it to an ATM

Multiple written exams in one day

There are definitely some transition pains. At least last week there was a delay in the knowledge test results making it into IACRA. I had an applicant who had taken his Knowledge Test the previous day show up for a checkride. Nothing in IACRA so we did the checkride on a paper 8710. Thankfully...

    Cessna 425 vs KingAir C90?

The 425 has PT-6's. It goes faster because it is smaller and wetted area matters.
