systems and performance. My Multi add-on oral exams usually take 1-1.5 hrs. We talk about accelerate/stop/go, single engine service ceiling etc etc. Making sure you know how to use the chart but more importantly some thought on how you use the info to make informed and safe real world decisions.

    Dead Reckoning IFR?

look up the note "MEA Gap" which still exists at least on one segment Southeast of Salt lake City. Dead Reckoning is the expectation since nav signal is not guaranteed at the MEA. and that is on an airway!

    Multiengine VFR-only limitation

Interesting question. I was under the impression, probably from tribal knowledge based on the old PTS wording thats mentioned, that it was the option of the applicant. But you are right, from what I read in the ACS and the 8900.1, the only way to issue a VFR Limitation is if someone already has...

    IR checkride -unpublished holds

    Talk me into CFI

It will make you more employable I have checked out quite a few 500-800 hr pilots in the King Air in the last few years as SIC's. I see a BIG difference between the CFI's and non-CFI's. It makes you a much better pilot when you've spent time trying to teach someone else. You will have a...

    Foreign Flight Training

Yes, per 61.41. the practical test endorsements will have to be done by a US CFI. Make sure the training meets the Part 61 requirements and document it as such. Makes the DPE happier when reviewing the paperwork. My experience so far with Singaporean and Australian applicants using training from...
