Or it wasn't applied according to the manufacturer's instructions. 1. Make sure nuts and bolts are clean and free from oil or dirt. Both surfaces must be clean to develop the full bonding strength.

    Missing Registration for Deceased

I guess everyone is ignoring that the OP is the named executor of the estate and therefore has the ability to legally sell the airplane today if he wishes.

Chuck Coleman Crash - Las Cruces

The upline prior to the manuever looked anemic, less than 45°. But perhaps that's just the camera angle.

    Growler Down

Two aviators and persons that made a difference. My condolences to their families, friends, and squadron mates. Thank you for posting this.

Hey old people, tell us what you can't do!

You want the list alphabetically or in groups of five?

    Rest easy, warriors.

    Resurrect old A/C?

It's available but expensive. The buyer must have an EPA 609 certification. I still have that laminated card somewhere.

    Resurrect old A/C?

All I can add is that the Texas summer I had access to an air conditioned 182 was wonderful.

That shaft is much harder than the set screw. You can see it was rotating.

    Grease on prop

The cap has nothing to do with sealing the zerk. It's there to prevent the accumulation of dirt on the fitting. The ball in the center is what provides the seal, it appears intact and functional.

Hot Air Balloon brings down antenna/tower; no injuries

There's another antenna onsite. Most of the large TV and radio stations I worked with before retiring had an "old" antenna that was utilized during repairs on the newer and taller tower. That's probably the case with KKOB.

    Our move to Texas

The wolfies are coming for you. This proud mother was carrying at least a hundred of her brood, just a few feet from my front door. She was about 2½" in diameter from leg tip to leg tip. I have otherwise manly man friends that run screaming at the sight of any spider, harmless or not.

    Our move to Texas

Welcome! You've arrived at just the right time, the semiannual three week interval at the end of October when temperatures moderate and you can leave windows open overnight. The 100+ degree days are done for the year.

Fatal Crash at First Flight, 9/28

When an airplane with all seats filled goes down, the pain is immense. When viewing and commenting on the mishaps posted in this forum, my thoughts always turn to those who have become victims by association. I suppose many of us here have felt the same shock and grief. We have also experienced...

Fatal Crash at First Flight, 9/28

That's a good observation. It provides a possibility for the puzzling loss of control and crash while flying an otherwise unremarkable and apparent straight line final.

Get A&P license to maintain own Airplane

Although I've become accustomed to your entertaining use of the written word, this one is a classic.

Cheapest way to build retract time

That airplane has all of the advantages of a twin, like high maintenance costs and fuel burn, without the downsides, speed and comfort.

Trip to Rhinebeck and Smithsonian Air & Space Museums

Thanks for sharing your experience. Years ago I took a similar trip to Old Rhinebeck, around the first week of October. Unfortunately after driving 2½ hours from our location in Vermont, a light rain cancelled flight activities for the day. Still, it was fun just being there. The collection...

Scott Bloomquist (unlicensed pilot) killed in small aircraft crash

If suicide ever invades your family, I can promise you'll regret the lack of compassion you've displayed.

    Piper cowl repair

That's not a chip, a previous repair is failing. Looks like a larger damage area was already repaired, and possibly auto body filler was used instead of fiberglass. Considering that and the visible crack above the damage, paint removal will tell you more about the underlying structure and the...
