    Radio Failure in Class Charlie

I lost both my radios together awhile ago -- I could receive fine, but transmit was completely full of noise and static and was completely unreadable. At first it started getting a little noisy but still serviceable, and then got worse to the point where nothing I sent was readable at all. Of...

    Windshield cleaner

I use Plexus, seems to work well and no problems. I use it on my motorcycle helmet visor too.

    NASA facility?

Curious... this from Airnav: Airport Operational Statistics Aircraft operations: avg 66/week * 46% local general aviation 44% transient general aviation 6% military 4% air taxi * for 12-month period ending 31 May 2005 This is for the NASA Shuttle Landing Facility in Florida, and the...

Plane has not been in use - check out or pass?

No harm in checking it out -- it might be fine, or it might be a money pit. Hangared is much better than parked in the open, of course -- what part of the country is it in? Your odds are better in Phoenix than in West Palm Beach, but you never know for sure. Can't hurt to have a look though...

    clearance and tower speech speed

I'm VFR only, but flying out of a class C, I overhear a lot of IFR clearances; no, this one sounded pretty typical to me. The ATIS actually sounded slightly fast, but that doesn't matter since it's a loop anyway.

    Training Location Help!

There are a lot of training options in AZ, and the weather is generally very cooperative. Even in the summer monsoon season you can often get some time in if you go early and plan to be back reasonably early. The only thing you won't get as much of is actual (flyable) IMC. (By "flyable" I mean...

    People say the dumbest stuff

I remember being somewhere in the area of Pueblo, CO and Denver center asked for my intended route of flight. They were a bit confused... until it became clear that when I picked up FF they mis-heard my destination as "Tulsa" rather than "Tucson." :)

    "change to ground point x"

Tucson is 124.4 (just to give an example; others have already pointed out this is not always true.)

    Rotting Planes. Sad.

I think a lot of this is tied up with identity. "I am a pilot, and I have my airplane, and I will return to it!" And asking someone to give up that idea, even if it's long since become unreachable, is a really big emotional ask. It's part of how they see themselves, and admitting that it's past...

    Single Mom focused on Piloting

Hah - too funny; I loved this when I first read it ages ago. It will never die. Nor should it; he really is bad. (Amateur musician only, but former recording studio engineer.)

    Amazon says months!?!

My guess is they'll roll out first in Europe while they work out the details with the FAA.

    Was I being unreasonable?

I am interested to see what you learn when you see the official documents....

    Was I being unreasonable?

I thought this was interesting. It looks like an LLC doesn't actually have to have an operating agreement (and it sounds like you don't), though it's wise to have one. This short article is specific to New York law, and I assume different states treat this in different ways, so it might be...

    Was I being unreasonable?

If it's not, and if you're sure they're not actually trying to do anything untoward, I guess I would first---tactfully and politely---ask for the ownership documents to be updated to accurately reflect your share. If you can get that done, that'll be a huge step forward. (Of course if you're...

    Was I being unreasonable?

I'm not a lawyer, and you want to ask one for a reliable answer, but my guess is... it depends. If the insurance company can make a case that you (all) deliberately misrepresented the home airport, especially if that is in some way relevant to a claim, they might well have a basis to deny...

    Was I being unreasonable?

Money, at a guess? You can get a tenth share in a pretty decent airplane for the same money that will get you, well, very very little on your own....

    Was I being unreasonable?

Ah, ok. If that includes a whole ADSB upgrade then that makes a lot more sense. Still, yeah, all the partners should be consulted, seems like. I still think the potential liability issues sound like the biggest immediate worry though.

They spent $10k on new radios??

    Was I being unreasonable?

Obviously we only have a looking-through-a-keyhole limited picture of the situation, so any advice might not be good for various reasons, but that said... if it were me I would probably be looking to bail on this arrangement if it's financially reasonable for you to do so. Maybe it's a great...

    Amazon says months!?!

I'm not sure I see the airspace concern. I would imagine these would all stay low enough to be no factor for anything but each other, no?
