Hangar: it really depends on where you are. In Puerto Rico, with the trend in tropical storm activity and climate change, I'd want one (preferably a sturdy one), though if you have the flexibility to fly away for a few days whenever a storm comes up then that helps a lot. I'm not sure I'd say...

    Lake Havasu 19 October 2019

Nice. Keep the rubber side down. I bought a Zero S a while ago; it won't beat the gsxr in a stretch but it's a totally fun city bike with a ton of torque. And, 130 miles worth of "fuel" costs me about 75 cents.

All women Deltra crew flies 120 girls to NASA HQ

It's important to recognize both the history and the current reality of gender discrimination. It's alive and well, right now, today, and I don't get the sense that you believe that. This is a push back against that, and as such it's only a good thing. You can see it as gender discrimination...

    Lake Havasu 19 October 2019

Likely for me, at least currently. I am totally not a morning person, but I can probably manage to make it there by around 11:00. :-) Wife may or may not come, she'll probably decide the night before. :)

Sounds like a possibility for me....

(NOT) Flying into ORD ($$$ pucker)

What this says to me is "yes, if you really want, we'll accommodate you slow GA guys who putter down final approach at 80 knots and screw up all our sequencing, but we don't *really* want to, and if you insist then we will charge you for it." :-)

New Pilot, Trip over the Appalachian Mountains.

I think I can only remember being refused once (actually I wasn't refused because I knew better than to ask in this case). We were coming back into the Denver area -- along with everyone else -- after the eclipse; we'd flown into KTOR to watch it since that was in the totality path. On the way...

Finally made it to the West side (and into a Bravo)

Coming from Tucson, going to Deer Valley I've done the N/S VFR transition through the Phoenix Bravo a few times. Super easy; although I haven't flown VFR transitions through any other class Bs, i can't imagine this isn't one of the simplest.

How to purchase a hangar - questions

Around here as far as I know the only option for owning your own is to buy a lot at one of the private "air park" developments and put it there. Otherwise, you just lease the whole thing.

2 killed in plane crash west of Daytona Beach

Interesting that the sister ship that also showed fatigue was only two serial numbers away from the accident aircraft, and that none of the other planes checked (only 15, granted) showed signs of fatigue even though some had more hours and more landings in a training environment... I wonder if...

Flatlanders Up At 14,000 - Learned A Lot

I've had my Cherokee-235 up to 12,500, but as mentioned it takes awhile. I believe its published service ceiling is 12,000 and absolute ceiling is 13,900. It's not unusual that I'll take it up to 8000 or 9000-ish, especially if that helps find smoother air in the summer, but it's usually not...

    Cessna 177RG Cardinal

This started me thinking... always dangerous, that. How comparable is an upgrade 177RG --> 210 (G or later) vs., say 180HP Arrow --> Cherokee-6/300? Roughly, of course.

    Friends asking to go fly....

Yeah, I've heard that a few times, but that always seems like kindof basically being a dick. You do you, but I don't think I want to be that guy.

    Yeah, don't do this. :) :)

    Rotting Planes. Sad.

Well, I don't know if you can be entirely sure of that. I'm sure it's true for some. However, I buy fuel away from my home airport quite a bit more than I buy it locally there -- it's cheaper and not really any less convenient if I'm going to be out flying locally anyway. Plus the self serve...

    Ownership Anniversary

About 5 years for me -- wow where did that time go?

    Would you?

That's interesting -- I remember that story but I didn't remember that detail of it. To me, that just reinforces my initial "no" answer in my single, though I do have the fuel for it. Ok, you're in the water -- you have 60 seconds to get oriented, get out, and get your raft out (at a minimum)...
