    1975 421B - Toilet / Galley Questions

That particular issue calls for a precautionary landing!! In 30 years of owning and flying pressurized twins, I’ve had one friend use the relief tube, he fell in love with it!:D:D:rolleyes: Flying back from Puerto Rico in our Citation, my wife had to pee, and told her to use the potty...

    1975 421B - Toilet / Galley Questions

The best thing for the toilet is find a small bucket that finds the hole and put a plastic bag in it, I don’t think it’s a flushing potty. If it is, always say it’s broken!! The relief tube is a lifesaver, make sure you test it with water before using it!! And flush with a little water after...

    Best and Worst C182 Models

I’ve dealt with Van Bortel several times over the last 30 years, I’ve referred several people to them for buying and selling Cessnas. I fly older airplanes, older than what they sell, but I’m still friends with Howard. They take great care of their customers, they ain’t cheap, but they are...

    Best and Worst C182 Models

My dad bought a P model new in 72, 73 model that we bought earned our private in and I got my IR in it too. Fast forward about 25 years and my youngest son wants to fly, we bought a 77 Q model. The Q is quieter, slower turning prop and higher TBO. Otherwise the 77 Q is the same as a P model...

    MOUNJARO FOR WEIGHT LOSS

Just curious, is Wegovy approved in combination with any other type 2 meds, I’m looking at adding it for diabetes and of course weight loss wouldn’t hurt.

    Something going on around DC

I flew a 551 for 7 years as a single pilot, but the plane itself was qualified for single pilot operations, mainly a lower gross weight! I have a standard CE500 type rating, so I can only fly 501’s and 551’s single pilot.

    Something going on around DC

I’ve put N747JB on 7 airplanes over the last 30 years, some of us have a particular N number that we like. I’m currently waiting on the new owners of my 425 to register it to the number painted under 747JB!

Buying a King Air to be operated by a Charter Operator

I was approached by my FBO when I had my Citation II S/P, I listened carefully and it was totally one sided, not my side!!:D Basically, I provide the airplane, insurance, pilot expenses etc. They get 20 or 25 percent of the revenue and all the fuel and maintenance sales!

    New Bose Headset?

I keep 4 AA batteries in my iPad bag or in the plane, never really had an issue with batteries. I lost my A20 BT headset when someone swapped it for a non-BT model in the hangar!! I’d like to get BT again, but it might be a used A20 with BT.

    Turboprop vs piston question

I sold my 421B and bought a 425 about 9 years ago, the 425 burns more fuel, but is much faster and the fuel is cheaper. In my typical trips from FTY to Destin, I saved about 10-15 minutes each way. I burned about 15 gallons more fuel, I figured fuel cost was about $60 more per trip. Turbines are...

    IMC the whole fight?

My first flight in IFR conditions after I got my IR was forecast to be 800-1200 overcast, with layers of clouds. Atlanta to Pinehurst NC, went IMC at about 1000 feet and saw the ground about 600 AGL on landing! About 2hours in our 182 with a single axis autopilot that was sketchy to say the...

    VOR / ILS endorsement?

I’m surprised about the lack of turbo prop endorsement. Get your PPL and legally jump into the left seat of your PC-12!!

GNS 530 WAAS buttons are sticking

I also have a 430 in the panel and a 530w in the 182, I like the Garmin units and this is honestly the first issue I’ve had with any of them, going back to 2002 or so.

GNS 530 WAAS buttons are sticking

Thanks for the suggestions, I’m having the shop pull the unit and send it to my avionics shop, to ship to Garmin, he said 10-14 days! It’ll be that long before they get the annual complete!

GNS 530 WAAS buttons are sticking

That’s kind of what I was thinking! I’m in for an annual this week, so I may get them to pull it and ship it to Garmin. I can get by with the 430 until it comes back.

GNS 530 WAAS buttons are sticking

I guess that’s the best way to describe it, when attempting several different functions, I have to push the buttons several times to get a response. One button, I think it was menu, is not functioning at all. I’m think I remember that avionics shops can’t repair these, will Garmin still overhaul...

    yet another first annual

I honestly don’t know how many hours they use as a base charge. If I get out between $2-3,000 I figure it’s been a good annual!

    Registration questions

November 30, 2022 but they still show it as expired. I don’t think the 7 year registration has taken effect yet.

    Registration questions

Thanks for the responses! Next question, is there a short cut? I really hate to ground my son’s plane for 7 months, over a $5.00 screw up, waiting on the FAA to review the file?
