    Tug advice.

I’m getting into a hangar soon, hopefully! Any advice for a 414 tug? Flat ground, no incline, no snow or ice to deal with. I’m leaning towards something electric, remote control ones look cool, but I’m trying to keep it a little affordable. What’s the scoop on the best, simple to operate tugs?

    New panel for a 206

I just did a small upgrade to our 182Q, 2 275’s and a GFC 500. I don’t have electric trim, so it has to be manually trimmed if it’s out of trim. I kept the KX 155, we seldom use it, as we have a 530 as the number 1. When the shop was finishing up they discovered the 155 won’t transmit. I would...

I have tasted speed, and I like it

FTY to AMA 800 nautical miles, 4 hours in a Citation II SP, I swear I could watch the same trucks on I-10 for 10 minutes!! Humbling!!

I have tasted speed, and I like it

It’s all relative! I remember flying from Memphis to Atlanta in our 182P, probably 1988, I had a GS of 175 knots. You couldn’t wipe the grin off my face!! 20 years later flying from Kansas City to Atlanta in our 441, I hit 400 knots over the ground. I was grinning just as much!!

    Hangar Monthly Rent

I’m paying $540.00 at FTY, big community hangar with pull outs. It’s closer to my son, he flies it 90% of the time, he’s moving closer to PDK and can’t even get a return call! ‍ I’m in Newnan, CCO has pretty much zero availability, with the exception of buying a hangar!

Oh no, not again. Katamarino's flight to Australia.

Thanks! Now I zoomed in to see it! I’ve got the S-Tec 60-2, pretty good autopilot, nothing like the newer ones, but it works fine.

I love the paint and the panel!! Just curious, do you have an autopilot?

    Henning gone west

I’m late to the party, I never met Henning, but usually enjoyed our interactions on the boards. So sad to see anyone take their own life.

    Used/overhauled G-600?

Thanks, I looked at Gulf Coast and zero G500 or 600’s ‍♂️ I’ll ask when I pick up my son’s 182, they have to be going somewhere

    Used/overhauled G-600?

I looked at Aspen a couple years ago and they had remanufactured units available. Does Garmin do the same with the G-600? I know they take them on trade for the Txi upgrades. Just looking for less expensive options! I’m looking at dual 275’s, but if a reman is available it could narrow that cost gap.

Anyone buy a plane in Georgia?

You’ll owe sales tax in most cases, the % is based on the county where you register it, 6 or 7% of the purchase price. Casual sales are exempt, buying from another individual that is not in the business of selling airplanes. Buying from any company or LLC is taxable. You will have an annual...

Good place to hide a spare key on plane?

Cessna has probably less than a dozen keys, almost any small key, including tool box keys will open one. My spare key is in my truck console, but the primary and extra keys are in the plane.

Twin Ownership - Year 1 The ups and downs

I use them as well, since 2007, and I’ve been very happy with them. They stay busy, but do good work and not cheap, but reasonable. If that word can be used in relation to aircraft maintenance.

    Grounded for not talking

We were flying from Ontario to Atlanta one night, probably 1998, wife and 3kids in the back of our 441. We had a late departure and customs was closed at FTY, our home base. We stopped in Toledo, I think, to clear customs. By then it was getting late, boys 3-4 are getting grumpy. We leave Toledo...

Dual G5's vs Aspen Evolution E5 vs Dual GI 275

I have known Karl for a long time, I emailed them today, they’ve done work for me in the past. I’m hoping it won’t take a long time to get a couple GI 275’s installed.
