What to do when your safely pilot suggests you get a commercial rating?

    Wow. Not nearly enough information.

Does the >150NM Solo Cross Country require 3 landings at controlled airfields? Is my CFI wrong??

Requires a sign off for preflight planning only. No postflight signature needed.

    The Jetson One

Got a reference for the “no certificate” comment? That makes no sense to me.

Free Flight Time? Plan Shelved For Now.

Let me get this straight. You want me to drive your car to northern Wisconsin from … where? somewhere else in Wisconsin, yo will fly up and get me and I get to log the time coming back? Hmm. What kind of plane? I log sole manipulator and you act as PIC? Devil/Details. I can’t do it anyway...

FedEx 757 Gear-Up Landing at CHA

I think in this day and age of almost instantaneous coverage by social media, that has become moot. Those images can be “ published“ before the squad can get there.

Tell me about being a CFI.

FedEx 757 Gear-Up Landing at CHA

    Well, they DID eventually declare.

    Hover Training

Ok, I see that. But I don’t see how that applies to hovering practice or hover taxiing since there are no visibility requirements for taxiing.

    Hover Training

I see it as 1/2 mile and clear of clouds for helicopters. I don’t see where a tower would have a problem with hover training as long as it is in a fairly remote area on the airport. Also, a fixed wing airplane is allowed to taxi when weather is below VFR minimums. Taxiing a helicopter from...

    BUMMMFITCHH, pre-landing checklist questions

As long as those are the only two, I would be ok with it.

FedEx 757 Gear-Up Landing at CHA

Found to do nothing and, IIRC, it increased stopping distance because of reduced friction.

FedEx 757 Gear-Up Landing at CHA

Wow! That thing slid for a LONG time.

    Airspeed, or Altitude After Takeoff?

Been a long time since I flew something with a blue line. Got close. Right idea, wrong term.
