    Thanks a lot, Ukraine

Regardless of which sides are chosen in the current war (which is also a good way to get the thread locked), I think it is naive to think DHS isn't already planning to expand into and address what will inevitably occur by drone at some point here in the US. Example: AIRPORT & AVIATION SECURITY...

    Thanks a lot, Ukraine

Nope. But per my edit, how many times do your take your shoes off or pull bottles of spring water out of your bag because of events that didn't happen, either. I don't trust some random bureaucrat to decide to make a delusional career enhancing proposal that gets amplified in the media to...

    Thanks a lot, Ukraine

If you recall, Homeland Security came dangerously close to implementing much of the TSA commercial controls in GA after "the event", until they were talked off the ledge. We ended up with ADS-B, scattershot airport badges, and partially fenced airports instead. And commercial was significantly...

Piece of plastic packaging blown into the tank

Put the sticker in the proper position and you have a solution.

    Thanks a lot, Ukraine

Somehow, the YouTube algorithm decided to divert my feed of interesting RC planes, to interesting RC planes with little servo run cargo doors that open so full size 3D printed hand grenades filled with talcum powder can fall out. Never click on the first one, or YouTube will make the rest of...

Piece of plastic packaging blown into the tank

I would not put dry ice into contact with a fuel tank, unless you also feel like vacuuming up the cracked tank seam sealer that shatters under the temperature change. This is the same method auto guys use to pop tar based sound dead net off their floorboards.

    BA drone near miss

Did someone say 172 sized drone?

Piece of plastic packaging blown into the tank

Is the Chinese boroscope explosion proof? Or does it have powered LEDs and a little camera at the far end that get inadvertently dunked into 100LL? Just thinking.

    Breeze Airlines?

Not much different than any other budget airline. Cheaper and sometimes more convenient when things work. You're often on your own when it doesn't. Breeze doesn't even have a phone number to call for help, in line with the modern business customer service model. If it is absolutely critical...

Piece of plastic packaging blown into the tank

I did the same dumb thing at a remote airport years ago, but it was a piece of paper towel. No FBO or mechanic. Spent a long time with a flashlight and a wire hook. Eventually fished it out after rocking the tank to slosh it around. Might want to put your piece of plastic in a little jar of...

Can you jump a 12V plane battery with a car?

^^ Dang. There are some funky experimentals in the background of that render.

Can you jump a 12V plane battery with a car?

Hmmmm. Seems like it is possible to jump a 12V plane battery with a car.

    Breeze Airlines?

https://www.nerdwallet.com/article/travel/breeze-airways-guide Unfortunately, their planes have enough seats that they can't bypass TSA. That's a negative...

Wing walking thrill rides shut down, pilot/operator loses license

What apparently brought all of this into the gaze of the “Eye of Sauron” included a fly-in community who claimed this was a noisy commercial operation in violation of their covenant. Followed by a series of creative counter-arguements. …neighbors grew tired of the noise from the flights...

    Insane bike acrobatics

Neat. Definitely a Hoonigan vibe in that video.

Wing walking thrill rides shut down, pilot/operator loses license

Customer video review of the experience below, with multiple GoPro angles. 1st half is training, 2nd half is their flight experience. Interestingly to me, acrobatics also were done in the “Harry Potter broomstick” position, with no restraints other than the trailing tether wire. Customer just...

Wing walking thrill rides shut down, pilot/operator loses license

Here’s his video. Tether is visible, and includes the inverted flight and “Harry Potter broomstick ride” from the article.

Took a Waymo (driverless car) this week

It's still there, but in a different way. "Millions of videos", per Elon, have been used for network training. Many of those needed to be sorted into "good" and "bad" behavior to set boundaries, as well as many "never do this" regarding traffic laws, etc. I'm sure their lawyers and safety...

Wing walking thrill rides shut down, pilot/operator loses license

Hmmm... Based on multiple wing walking flights in Sequim last summer and further such flights in Santa Paula, Calif., in December, “you have advertised or offered passenger-carrying aircraft operations to the public without authorization,” the FAA ruled. During these flights, each lasting...
