    Nope, this was a fixed gear, fixed prop standard 112HP Tomahawk, but his reasoning was that eventually at some point I'd likely fly something more complex so building the habit early of working a prop / gear would be beneficial.

    Like others have said, nice and smooth on the power during takeoff. It's not a turbine or FADEC engine, you can't just slam it up to full power. That's my guess

    Why do jets have windshield wipers?

    Also, on some jet aircraft, the airflow over the windshield at approach speeds (read: high angles of attack) isn't sufficient to clear the windscreen. These aircraft will have either windshield wipers or bleed air ducts to clear the windshield during the approach.

    This makes a lot of sense to me, and I see it's point as a make/model specific procedure. But to then apply the blanket statement "Never do touch and goes in a complex airplane" is a leap that I'm not willing to take.
