    Printer w/ (auto) Duplex Scanning?

Pulled the plug on a Canon MF656 on Amazon. Good reviews on several of those 'best 'fill-in-the- blank'' sites, a 3-year warranty, and no questions asked returns. Considerably more pricey than midwestpa24 paid, but appears to be the going rate currently. C'est la vi! Will report back on the...

    Printer w/ (auto) Duplex Scanning?

That's how we came to be looking to upgrade. Current printer will scan a page to a usb stick, then ask if there's another page in the doc. Tedious...

    Printer w/ (auto) Duplex Scanning?

I'm kinda wondering about moving into the 'laser' class. HP9135 ink-jet should do what we want for $300-ish, but @midwestpa24's Canon MF656 moves us into laser and single-pass duplex scanning for $150 more. Not finding EdFred's Brother on Amazon... Hmmmmm! <scratching bald spot>

    Printer w/ (auto) Duplex Scanning?

Time to upgrade the office printer from the old, old HP. Relatively low-use, but duplex scanning to computer/email a must. Not locked into HP brand. What say ye, office-types? Thanks! Jim

    Professional Pilot Banned From Airport

Hi, Mimi! Lotsa water under the bridge since the last post. Time has marched on for JoAnn, and she has retired to a nursing home South of the airport. She's struggling <sigh>. Do the math...if I recall, she was 82 in 2015. I can PM her phone to you, if you don't have it. We now have an...

School Me On Short Wing Pipers

Actually.... PA-15 (65 Lyc Vagabond), PA-16 (125 Lyc Clipper), PA-17 (65 Cont Vagabond), PA-20 Pacer (125 Lyc, I think), and PA-22 Tri-Pacer (mostly 150/160 Lycs). Fun little airplanes! I've owned a 15 and a 16. The Vag is pretty short-coupled, but the Clipper not so bad. We re-built the Vag...

    Any experiences downloading MSFS 2020?

I have to put a vote in for the Redbird 'stuff'. We have their throttle console, rudders, and yoke. Serious cash, but seriously good. The yoke has 180 degrees of rotation, and the fore-aft throw is within a half-inch of our 182rg. We're serious simmers (3 4k screens run by 3 computers), and...

    Plane crash on FL freeway

Clearly anecdotal, but my wife, who has been shuttling owners who have house in Florida for over 35 years, came home for the first time ever last week shaken by flying thru a big flock of seagulls in the Citation. She said it was sheer luck there was no strike..... FWIW.... Jim

    ORD remains the worst

We've been flying from NE Ohio to SQI (Sw of RFD) for almost 15 years...mom is there. The only time (singular) we haven't been sent to KELSI was when we went VFR for some reason. That wouldn't be bad if they'd let us turn NW up to TRIDE like flight planned, but they insist on vectoring us due...

She's gonna be gorgeous, Ed! 76 posts in and no one's mentioned re-building the fuel selector valve....a known sticking point (pun intended) on the 7/8 series. ;-) Jim

    Garmin G5 simulator

This is X-plane, with the Air Manager add-on doing the instruments. We've set the panel up to match the one in our R182. The smaller screen is a touchscreen, and the keystrokes for the G5s, the GFC500, and the interaction between them are spot on. It's an amazing learning tool, but getting...
