    Textron sevice letter SE73-37

Thank you Gentleman for setting me straight. I haven't heard from my AP since this morning as he does have a day job for an airline. I was as always trying to get a jump on what I was gonna need to repair it. Late last night before bed I glanced through some ADs and found that one. I wasn't sure...

    Textron sevice letter SE73-37

I did double check and that is the number I got off of the AD 74-04-01. It is a older AD from Feb 1974 so things might have changed? It pertains to cracks found in the aft bulkhead back by the rear window in a 1980 172N. I have talked with one of my APs and he is doing his research as we speak...

    Pilawt - Jeff Jacobs

Oh man, He will be greatly missed. He contributed to many websites and I knew early on he was a stand up guy with many awesome photos and experience. He did know about many aircraft models and lots of details about them. We are all better off because of Jeff sharing his knowledge. I will miss...

One of the most amazing airshow displays I have seen

We have had a Labor Day celebration here in town since the 80s with fireworks off the barges in the middle of the Ohio river. It's usually about 40 minutes worth cinchonized to music. In the past 40 years it keeps getting better. But I have never seen a plane flying through it shooting...

    RV inline fuel filter

I have been learning from Dan the last 4-5 years. I have often thought/wish I could capture his knowledge and store it somewhere other than in my weak mind. At least some of it is here in POA. Thanks Dan.

    Oshkosh 2024 - Who's going?

Cool McGevering... This year the weather seemed to be cooler than average. Really awesome over all. The second or third day it was getting dusty and I was hoping for rain. We got it over night, that took care of the dust for another 36-48 hours. We were in the 24/7 genset area but did not run...

One of the most amazing airshow displays I have seen

Pretty sure they had a guy on each side of the plane shooting roman candles out the side of the plane? At least that is what I suggested to my wife. I don't think she believed me? lol

Very cool and lucky to be able to see it in person. The end of the night show gave me goosebumps. And the F16 and F18 also gave me goosebumps every time they flew. Incredible performance.Great people everywhere and awesome place to spend a week or more! Sadly we are pulling out in a little...

Emergency battery pack for home refrigerator?

When I was a bachelor I went without a fridge for a few years. I was not home a lot so really miss it much. I kept a cooler on the back porch and one winter a bag of ice lasted me 4 months! lol Now I have a 1000 watt really high hour yamaha generator that is quiet that I can use if needed. Been...

    Buffing a Wet Wing

Thanks, Sorry I dont have any experience with a dual action so I dont know. I use heavy wool pads to do heavy duty stuff like aluminum wheels and paint with lots of damage. The safest way is to use foam pads on a buffer, there are different grades of foam pads. You can not do much damage with...

    Buffing a Wet Wing

What you have is a polisher not a buffer. A buffer just goes round and no orbital action. You need a real buffer which IMO put less vibration on the surface and gives you better results. A oribital polisher is used to remove swirl marks from the buffer. I have been buffing paint for years. Just...

3 dollars round trip on a school bus to the sea plane base either from the south 40 or the buse depot. It was a easy, we were the first load on Sunday at noon. The weather has been great so far and the nights are epic. imo The sea base is beautiful and the weather perfect.
