Taking the Dipstick out after a flight?

I have 520’s and do it at the end of each flight for about 30 mins or so while I wipe down the leading edges, I figure it can’t hurt and am surprised by the amount of steam that comes out.

    Piper Navajo Chieftain

Disclaimer… I haven’t flown one but a friend who does tell me for planning purposes they figure 50 GPH… the Mike Jones conversions they’ll plan for 60 GPH. They are very roomy but have large dimensions so corporate hangars at the minimum. With the days of $7 AVGAS I can’t imagine they are very...

    Just bought my own plane

Congrats! I love the older Cherokees… I flew a 180 for a while in a flying club and ended up buying an airplane for the same reasons you stated. That sounds like a great panel, I’m eyeing an upgrade eventually but I think a 430W with the G5’s will be a great IFR training platform to give you the...

Lots of hours prior to instrument/commercial. Advice on how airlines will see this.

Dude.. honestly the airlines probably won’t think twice about your hours prior to your instrument/commercial tickets. I wouldn’t worry about it.. with the pilot shortage they aren’t going to debate your motivation for flying for fun prior to other ratings.

    Replacement certificates

So I accidentally left my certificates in my GA flight bag back home last year and left for a work trip and had to go this route… it took about 30 mins after the request to get them delivered to me by e-mail and I printed it out and all was good for the rest of the trip.

    T-Bone

T-Bones sound awesome! I would of bought one if hangar space wasn’t such an issue here in FL. Plus you can’t put a price on the vintage looks of it… Every airport you see a Cirrus or RV but how about a T-Bone? I was told several times the fuel burn is comparable to a Baron but it cruises a lot...

Well, I certainly found the most expensive way to get to Florida.

Glad your airplane is back in the air! One of my fears when getting stuck AOG is being at a field where there isn’t proper maintenance support, I’m glad it worked out for you! I love the golf cart at your hangar btw. I need to get one of those with that scheme.
