Like Bell 206 said I used a small inverter generator to popper my fridge and a few fans with no issues.. they’re pretty inexpensive and quieter than your standard generator and you can run them in parallel if you need to for more output. I’m in the same boat as you when I fly pistons if I can’t divert around a line of storms in VMC then it’s time to land and wait it out or stay home.. it’s not worth the risk. I wonder if he was using ADS-B to shoot the gap which can be misleading because of the delay the radar picture shows…...

Glad you figured out the NORDO issue and was able to make it back without issue. Always great flying solo… especially a twin! What kind of twin is it? I love having the security of the second engine flying low over all the swamps in central florida.
