I have three boys already; I might not even notice another one! The sad thing is that none of my kids really has much interest in aviation. I sometimes think about my teenage years and that if I had access to any airplane as a kid I would have been all over that! Abram Finkelstein N685AS

What good is an ATP rating?

I think this is a great question! I had no intention of getting my ATP. I was a private pilot that flew airplanes to support my business and didn’t even see the point in getting my Commercial license. I had been flying a Meridian for seven years and had built up about 1,600 hours of total...

The Eclipse has a new home....

I think you misread the certificate. The PIC Type Ratings that I have which require an SIC are on the Citation Ultra and the Phenom 300. I am Single Pilot Type Rated on the Eclipse 500 and the Phenom 100, and I have an SIC only Type Rating on the Legacy 500. Abram Finkelstein N685AS

Thank you! We all struggle with the same thing. That is the Peter Principle as applied to Airplanes.... But it wasn’t long ago that I was as piston Piper and Cessna driver, too! Abram Finkelstein

I feel your pain! I still airline on most trips that would require more than one stop, but I believe that this plane may make it more appealing to do the cross country trips. I would love more airplane, but it isn’t in the budget! Abram Finkelstein N685AS

I know Barry well and consulted with him before I made the leap. He is a really great guy and very knowledgeable about all things airplane! If you think the P100 is tough for tall pilots, you should try to squeeze into the front of an Eclipse! Abram Finkelstein N685AS

I fly a few 300s too and think it is an amazing airplane. I agree that APUs are incredibly helpful, but I only see those on the biggest airplanes I fly! If budget ever supports it, I will get a P300, as it is to me, the best and most versatile single pilot owner flown airplane out there...

The Eclipse has a new home....

After seven wonderful years with a pretty incredible airplane, at the end of 2020, my Eclipse found a new home. It was bittersweet to get many years of my stuff out of the airplane and get it ready for its new owner, but I know she will be a great airplane for the new owner. I tried living...

What do you use your plane for?

I started flying when I was 20 years old and a sophomore in college. I got my instrument rating a few years later while in law school. I started a business in 1994 and had my first aircraft partnership around the same time. Over the years, I have had five airplanes, about to be six, and my...

    Short business travel needs

I had a very similar mission when I first started to fly my own plane to support my business. I needed something to get me around Florida to see vendors and clients and for Association business. What I quickly discovered is that my mission quickly changed as I gained more experience and the...
