As a side note, this seems to only happen on my desktop. The apps are fine, but I always add flights on the computer. Abram Finkelstein N685AS

    The MyFlightBook thread

Hey, Eric! Thank you for the response. Next time I get on my computer, I will take a look to see if the “fq” is in the URL. However, I actually have gone to Logbook->Add Flights many times. That is basically how I add each trip and I have had this issue for about a year.

    The MyFlightBook thread

Hey, Eric! I hope that you are doing well. I am still having the lingering problem of a search I did over a year ago popping up every time I try to add a flight. I have to delete that search every time I add a flight, even if I add multiple flights at one time. I have tried to troubleshoot...

Starting to look at what I want and need some thoughts

My experience is that if you want to actually travel with an airplane, get something that has more seats than you need. By the time you get the bags and people in, you will be grateful for the space! I had a Piper Saratoga II TC for a few years and thought that was a pretty good airplane for...

    Commercial, why do it?

Like some of the others, I had no intention to fly professionally and never saw the point in getting my Commercial. At the time, I was on my fifth airplane, which was an Eclipse. That was about the time that, as a result of the Colgan accident, Congress changed the law which made getting the...

Should I buy a plane... or Not?

@Abram do you own your own business? It'll be a few years before I could shift from this club to ownership to meaningful family transportation. As I get closer to that point, however, the needs will shrink as kids leave. Hmmm. I'd love to hear about your life progression there. I make probably...

Should I buy a plane... or Not?

Hi, there. I am late to the party, but a couple of points from my perspective: 1. When I first bought a plane, I had one idea of what my mission was going to be, but the reality turned out quite different. I found that as my flying experience and aircraft capability increased, my mission...

Float Plane selection - new pilot

I got my seaplane rating about three years ago and can honestly say that it was the most fun I have had flying an airplane in years. And I really have fun flying airplanes!!!! I did it low and slow in a Piper Cub and the experience was amazing. In fact, I think it is time for me to get back...

Buy it. Buy it. Buy it. . .

There is never a good time to buy an airplane! It is always the worst possible way to spend excess cash; but there is also nothing like owning an airplane! When I was comfortable that I could swing the acquisition cost and got comfortable with the cost to operate, I found the right airplane...

    MU2 vs Turbine Single

I flew a Meridian for about seven years and over 800 hours. I used it mostly for trips under 700 miles, but did several trips over 1,200 miles, as well. Many of those trips were with my family of five and baggage, It is a comfortable cabin and has a reasonable amount of baggage space. The...

    Any contract pilots here?

I do quite a bit of contract flying in the Eclipse, the Phenom 100 and the Phenom 300. I used to work in the Citation V Ultra and the Legacy 500, but I am not current in those aircraft. As others have said already, almost all of my work has come through networking with people, especially other...

I bought an airplane. It was a lifelong dream. 6 months later, I'm out. (Reddit post)

The supply chain issues and the lack of available professionals to repair airplanes is permeating every aspect of aviation right now. Every major manufacturer is struggling to find serviceable parts and, when they can find them, there is a back log of airplanes to fix because they do not have...

Best way to structure a partnership purchase of a large aircraft

I had two aircraft partnerships with three different aircraft. One of the partnerships had three members and the other had four. Both partnerships worked extremely well for several years, until it didn’t. The group consisted of people I knew, or that another partner knew, reasonably well and...

I bought an airplane. It was a lifelong dream. 6 months later, I'm out. (Reddit post)

The original poster had an interesting perspective on aircraft ownership and, if I went through what he describes, I might have the same perspective and give it up. I am happy to report that my experience with aircraft ownership, which spans 25 years and six airplanes, has been very different...

Some pictures from last week’s flying. You gotta love flying in the Southeast during the summer. Thunderstorms make for some exciting flying, but also some beautiful pictures!

    The MyFlightBook thread

Hey, Eric. I hope that all is well! I am having a problem that seems to crop up every once in a while on the desktop. Every time I open the app on my computer, it shows the results from a search I did a long time ago. I clear the search and reset, but every time I save a new flight, the...

    Airline flight cancellations

This is absolutely the case. I have no idea if any controllers were fired, much less 4,000 of them, but there is no doubt that a vaccine mandate was issued for them and some number of them elected to go to other jobs rather than get the vaccine. That is not a political statement, just a matter...
