    I don't believe there is a requirement the runway be totally clear before landing. On our 8500' runway if someone goes full lenth I can be to my hangar before he finishes the taxi to the ramp.

    Probably because that is multicomm where there is not a unicom. Many of the backcountry strips use it in Idaho and Montana.

    Safety pilots are not CFIIs. Until you are rated I would not try to learn from them. You can learn bad habit later:-) Safety pilot means just that, to keep you from hitting something. If you want an instructor, then fly with one.

    He was a retired SEAL probably not in the same shape. And stress will up your air intake. When the air is empty in a cave that's it, unless you can buddy breath. And you both don't run out.
