    alrighty then, who's buying it??

Those are the main two factors. I can’t stand to see that plane just sit in the hangar for the next 8 1/2 years till I retire. It’s meant to travel far and fast. Wish we had more qualified people but unfortunately I can’t speak further on that in a public forum considering my employer. My...

My new airplane has a weird propeller. What's the deal?

There’s an AD on props with those tabs. They have to come off every 10 hours and be inspected. Common fail point…hope you got a good deal. :);) Where’s the pics of the rest of your new bird?!?

    alrighty then, who's buying it??

Congrats on the warrior and getting back up! We’ve really enjoyed sharing our aviation travels and the community has been wonderful. We’ll still be flying around just somewhat limited till we can retire with only 4 days off a month from work for the foreseeable future. Makes hobbies tough. :(

    alrighty then, who's buying it??

Sorry guys. Didn’t mean to be so cryptic…just tried to keep it short and announce the plane/hangar sale. Not certain where the future will take us right now. Someone mentioned Kerosene and I wish! For now going to fly my buddies 340 on occasion and hope he does upgrade to a TBM soon (he’s...

    Installing heat in hangar

I have a Wi-Fi thermostat where I control it from my phone. Leave it around 47 unless I’m heading out then I usually crank it up to 70.

Video Trans Northern DC3 Engine Failure - Safe Return to Land

Interesting. I’ve been flying twins for over 20 years and I’ve never heard that before. I’m certainly no expert but I think that’s the last thing you should focus on while on short final from an OEI scenario.

G5 and GFC 600 (and GI 275 and G500 TXi)

Ha ha. It’s just that VFR is so darn efficient. Takeoff on course. :) Of course it helps I’m really confident on getting pop ups when needed.

G5 and GFC 600 (and GI 275 and G500 TXi)

Yes and it really tightened it up. How, I have no idea. My avionics guy talked to them during the software upgrade/new bezel, he ran a wire and bam…magic. :)

G5 and GFC 600 (and GI 275 and G500 TXi)

I haven’t had a chance to show the new 3100 software update interface with the G5 but not only does it interface with the altitude selected on the G5, they were also able to use the G5 for altitude info now vs the ADC and it improved a great autopilot even more. I’ve never flown with a GFC600...

Do you feel like you keep getting smarter?

I used to focus on getting “smarter”, better, more experienced, etc. I now focus on maintaining and getting to retirement, buying land down south and disappearing into quiet things I enjoy. Hunting, fishing, boating, snowboarding, golf, etc. After typing it, maybe I’m jaded?:)

    Confusing Tower Instruction

Who knows. Maybe a vehicle needed to inspect the runway, they were cutting a new ATIS, amending a flight plan, thought you were an Ovation :) or were training/not on their game. Tough to say without being in the cab.

    Confusing Tower Instruction

Are you saying the right base traffic can’t be cleared to land until the departure is gone? Sort of sounded like it. If so, that’s not correct.

    Confusing Tower Instruction

To expedite your departure while traffic/vehicle ahead clears. They are required to issue the traffic already cleared when they put you in position. Perfectly normal

    Question on Constant Speed Propellers

I’m sure I’ll get roasted out of here but… You could just leave the mixture and props set for cruise (mixture slightly enriched depending on what cruise altitude was) and just adjust the throttle for landing. In the event of a go-around (rare if you’re a proficient pilot) you’d smoothly move...

    American Plane Painting Company

Sorry to hear of your struggles @Ryan F. I had my plane painted at Hawk Aircraft in Zephyrhills, FL. The owner is Joe and does a great job. May not nail the target date exactly but will keep you informed and has been doing it for 30 years. I flew down from the Midwest due to his pricing and...

210 Grenades on T/O guy makes the impossible turn.

Nice job getting back safely. The engine overhaul shop will say we said to keep the mixture rich until X:00 and you clearly leaned it out after 30 seconds. You voided the warranty. :)
