    VOR Check

That’s what I’d do, but a bored guy with 20,000 hours was arguing with me over a dumb +/-….. Aviation, lol…

    VOR Check

A fairly pointless debate but how would you record/notate a Dual VOR check in the Check Log? Had a person write down VOR 1 330 VOR 2 333 3* A real particular fella then said well it should have +/-, I said why does it need those symbols? It’s...

    Avgas Prices

I fly just about every day, and have for the past several years. I’ve noticed a slow down in the last month, and in my business I’ve noticed double the amount of credit card purchases vs check/cash purchases. It’s interesting to get different views from around the country.

    Avgas Prices

We are about to be averaging near $8 or around in KY if it keeps up as loads get ordered. I agree FBO’s are playing the gas station game now.

    Avgas Prices

Surprised to not see a post about this! [emoji854] Anyone taking any guesses as to when the madness stops on the price increases and where it levels off at? Starting to see prices towards $9 and higher at the smaller airports getting new loads.

    translation of break in instructions

Keep it under 400 and roll on, you won’t have a issue if you stay away from Vx and Vy climbs, take your Vy speed and keep at least 5 knots over that, and faster if you climb up high for extended periods of time. I usually keep my altitude below 4,000 on a break-in. Don’t baby it too much or...

    C172 Door Bolt Adjustment

I’ll reply back with the fingers of the inner door latch mechanism once we tear into it. I just wanted to make sure I wasn’t missing something obvious. No we didn’t repaint they door. The hinge job actually went very smoothly and couldn’t have been a more perfect fit. Word to the wise...

    C172 Door Bolt Adjustment

As you can see here the bolt needs to extend out about 1/16 for a perfect engagement.

    *How* much for annual?

Go price insurance, a hangar, and supplies and you will wonder how a person could feed himself on a $1,200 fixed rate annual. The good ol’ days are gone…. Not to mention most cheap annuals barely consist of a true annual.

    C172 Door Bolt Adjustment

We have the service manual and hasn’t really said anything of the such, beyond indexing the handle. I can’t shim the striker side because that would make it further from the bolt unfortunately, I’ll dig it apart next week. Just wanted to get some other ideas because I adjusted the rotary wheel...

    C172 Door Bolt Adjustment

I’ll give that a look see on that pin. Otherwise it functions correctly. It is properly indexed. We changed the old hinges with new McFarland hinges. The door fitment is better than with the old, original hinges though. Good alignment all the way around. The old hinges were sagging from...

    C172 Door Bolt Adjustment

I’ve got a M Model with the 1 way rotary gear system that is mounted in the fuselage with the bolt that is in the door. I have a issue where in the neutral door handle position, the bolt does not extend far enough and only barely catches the gear in the door post which causes the door to often...

    121.5

I routinely fly long XC legs past multiple airports and generally stay on 121.5 for most of my entire flight, not switching to every Unicom and I go unless I see traffic. You can never be assured that another plane is on that same frequency either. It helps when listening to XM or wanting...

    Bo vs. Arrow

They are both great airplanes! My only downside to the arrow is when you pull the power, she’s got no float!

    King KA285 Annunciator Panel Lights

Yes! I’ll ask him where he got the bulbs. They were just slightlyyyy bigger in size but worked perfectly, only downside is that it’s a very delicate soldiering process and order a few extra bulbs but in the process of removing and working on it, a few of the good ones no longer worked after...
