557 and probably another 25 or so not logged.

    Pivotal altitude. Why it matters...

ATP/CFII/MEI/IGI with about 2000 hours dual given, you’ll never convince me that 8’s on pylons and pivotal altitude is anything more than rubbish… I believe it’s one of the most useless things that’s required of the ACS. I could think of many more relevant items to take its place. We all have...

From just looking at Flightaware, he would have made the airport had they not vectored him, closed airport or not I would have unabled that vector if I could make the field.

Emergency exit question - especially for Cherokee pilots

So I just replaced a front windshield in a Cessna 172. We decided for giggles that we would break it out just to see how hard it would be. You better hope the crash breaks it! A hammer kept bouncing right off…. Crescent Wrench, bounced right off, flat head screw driver, nope… We also tried...

    Lien question

I wouldn’t mess with it unless the lien was cleared or it was a plane I knew I’d have until I passed. In some situations where a bank has went out of business, that wasn’t a big deal. However, I knew of a plane that had a lien and the mechanic that filled the lien had passed away. A...

Tried to do it once, went very smoothly. Was quite easy but somehow toasted the unit anyway.

    Alternatives to Plexus?

May work good! I use the foaming aerosol can, but like I said, I’ve only used it about 2 years but no adverse issues.

    Alternatives to Plexus?

Your experience may vary but I have used RainX aerosol cleaner for quite some time. I’ve had no negative issues with it and beads water as would expect so great for light precipitation or morning dew and fog. Granted it’s not advertised for acrylic but again, I’ve personally not had any issues.

    Longest after TBo

I retired a O360-A4M last year at 4850 since new on original cylinders as well. Flight school utilization around 50-75 hours a month on average although before I bought it around 30-50 a month. Also 100 hour oil changes the last 1200 hours. A/S 15w50. Only retired it because the replacement...

    A&P hourly wage.

No it doesn’t….. There is PLENTY of work to go around. Just because some get a good deal, it doesn’t mean the work is dried up. I own a flight school and I contract on jets. That statement is the most over used garbage I see. For pilots and mechanics.

    Cessna 172 Articulating Seat

Does anyone know if there is a way to adjust the jack screw on a articulating seat? Got one that needs to be a little more upright and trying to see if there is a way to adjustment the clock on the jackscrew. Looking at it, I can’t quite figure it out if there is a way or not. Service manual...
