Sac's popcorn eating super short bad movie review - Alien Hunter

I would not call that review "super short". I expected to find something like: Movie fake and contradictory. Avoid.

[rant] The really bad design thread

Oh, this thread really triggered me. There are SO many things that have been designed (or worse, "redesigned") poorly that I can barely count them. Everything from vegetable peelers to jar openers to ice cream makers to this..... Fortunately, some kitchenware stores seem to have returned to...

Advice for a student whose flight school shut down and they are out thousands

I am so sorry to hear this. I had something like that happen a couple of times (not a flight school, another kind of business), but I was out only a few hundred, not thousands. It's a total burn.

    What would you do?

I'm glad I live where we can not only accommodate our 5 cars (don't ask) but probably a hundred more if we really wanted to.

I haven't had too much trouble with AT&T and I've been with them ever since I got a phone except before they broke up the Bells. We have an AT&T store locally and if we have a problem we just go there. We haven't had too many problems.

VFR flight plans. Do you file them?

As with so many things in aviation, my answer is "it depends". My decision not to does sometimes involve some risk. For example, if I'm flying to an airport buried in the mountains that has no phone or cell service and I don't intend to fly very high, no. I've only done that a couple of...

Hey old people, tell us what you can't do!

I can't run any more, I can't manage a balance beam, I can't hear very well any more, I can't read print smaller than a font size of about 2 without bright light. I can't stay awake past about 10 o'clock at the latest. I have real problems with hot weather. My mind is still tarp as a shack...

    [NA] buying land

Definitely keep this in mind when you start looking for property. And if there is a well, see if you can get the owners to get it tested for flow rate and quality (this IS a pretty common contingency). It wouldn't hurt to do some snooping to see how the wells in the surrounding properties are...

    [N/A] Alcoholic fruits?

Where I grew up we had a pyracanthas bush (I don't know if it has a common name). I had red berries that would ferment on the vine, so to speak, and the robins loved them. We were highly amused by all the drunk robins.

[N/A] What's your blood type and how is your relationship with Mosquitos?

I think there are enough data here to indicate that blood type and mosquito attractiveness are unrelated.

The most epic thing you've ever seen?

I've seen that more than once. Just this summer, I watched a bald eagle try to steal a fish from a sea lion. Bald eagles are criminals (and they just became the official national bird--they actually weren't before this Congress). One of the things I've always found odd about some criminals is...

    [NA] buying land

I've never heard of such a contingency, but I suppose someone has probably done it. Anywhere that the land seems to be reasonably priced, I doubt the owners would agree to such a contingency, since digging a well can cost upward of $20K and if they had a proven well, they could jack up the...

[N/A] What's your blood type and how is your relationship with Mosquitos?

I was a religious donor because I'm O-, universal donor. I was so popular that I would get calls as soon as my eligibility returned (8 weeks after previous donation) begging me to donate again. Then one day I was rejected because I had spent more than a cumulative total of 3 months in the UK...

    So today, there I was.....

Speaking of Kansas, my favorite airport in that state is in Pratt. Look in your handy-dandy A/FD and read the remarks, and you'll see why. Those remarks are what made me decide to refuel there once (it was on the way). I learned the story behind that one. You can probably imagine. Why that...

    [NA] buying land

The Number 1 concern if you are planning to buy land out West (where I've lived 93% of my long life) is, does the land have water? There is a reason so much of the West is unoccupied. I personally would never buy land here that doesn't already have proven water. If I were really into spending...
