And when you get them, you'll be "Glad all Over" unless they arrive in "Bits and Pieces".

My employer is asking employees to live in camp for four weeks

I recognize that red building. Flown up Hawk inlet more than a few times. Admiralty Island (where the mine is) is one of the best places for brown bear sightings as it has one of the densest Grizzly populations in North America. Also an extremely scenic island to fly over and around. PIcture is...

    Cherokee 140 mag drop

Had the same thing on my Cherokee a few years ago. A new (rebuilt) mag solved it. The bearing inside the mag had come from together.

My employer is asking employees to live in camp for four weeks

I've already been told to stay home. No tourist trade, no pilots needed. Are you at the mine in Hawk Inlet? Or by Point Sherman?

    IF domestic travel is restricted...

And many California resorts including Mammoth closed today. My 91 yr old mother is in assisted living and it's locked down. No visitors in or out, no community dining. They will reassess in 2 weeks.

    Decals on my Piper switches

Spruce has what you are looking for. So Sporty's and My Pilot shop probably do to. But I agree with Doc. Make your own. Black lettering on a white background helps in a dark PA28 cockpit.

    Alaska cruise and flying

Really close between 2 mountains is more like it. And make a 180 back to the runway with winds 25G38 and the other side of the canyon in the windscreen. Fun stuff and don't overshoot final. OP, you can book sightseeing with either Alaska Seaplanes or Ward Air in wheeled or float plane. But if...

    Toilet talk [rant]

Just get a Ferguson and be done with it. "BA-WOOSH. That's a man's flush. Sit down and give me your best shot".

    Lightspeed Sierra PIREP

I've been flying part 135 in both Alaska and the L48 with Sierras for the last 3 years. About 1500 hrs. Never an issue. I think they are a good alternative to the $1000+ price tag of the upper end ANR headsets. I agree about the seemingly oversized headband. It's the same size as the Tango model...

    More Stupid Pilot Tricks

You can see, with a rising tide, time was a critical factor in saving the survivor.

    More Stupid Pilot Tricks

It was a real stroke of luck that there was a backhoe nearby with the key in it. Had it not been for that and some locals quick thinking, the surviving passenger, (the pilot's business partner) would have drowned. The plane had crashed in shallow water with the tide rising rapidly and no way to...

    More Stupid Pilot Tricks

The pilot was a very good friend and he did screw up big time. I signed him off for his PPL checkride in 2013 and rented an apartment from him at one time. I was not his multi CFI but do know that gentleman. I believe he was demoing the airplane for a prospective buyer, though I'm not...

SE Alaska flying, help with emergency gear

Hmmmm. I've been flying the Lynn Canal and SE Alaska for the last 10 years for various Juneau 135 operators with well over 1000 trips between Juneau and Haines/Skagway. There is only 1 landing strip between Juneau and Haines. That's at Glacier Point. There are various beaches that MAY be...

Lightspeed - Sierra vs Zulu 3

I've had great luck with my Sierra. I fly part 135 in both the L48 and Alaska. Up to 7 hrs flying per day. Nearly 2 years now with about 1200 hrs flight time. No problems at all. Battery life is noticeably reduced if I listen to music via bluetooth.
