Any regrets moving up to better plane

I started with a 182-RG. Then I moved up to a Velocity. No way that I would ever go back to slower.

Why is my mechanic so against a turbo?

About the only time I mention MPG is if the wind is really howling. I was going from Dallas to Chicago at 8,500' one day and was seeing 23MPG. Of course if I was going the other way, it would have only been about 11MPG. But I was always burning 13GPH.

Ferry flight lawsuit (mods please help with title)

Even more so if the A&P who installed the ferry tanks wasn't an employee and just the shop that was selected to do the job.

    Wing sump

I had one on my 182 not seal properly after sumping. Just kept dribbling. The A&P/IA came over with a plug. Pulled the valve, screwed in the plug. Took the valve to his shop and replaced the o-ring. Then came back and reinstalled it. Maybe lost a 1/2 pint of fuel total. He said doing...

Medical Helicopter 3 fatal 1/20/24 - Weatherford, OK

Considering that Sully‘s plane took geese through both engines, you think that makes him the go to source of how to avoid hitting geese? In a helicopter?

Medical Helicopter 3 fatal 1/20/24 - Weatherford, OK

Ask Sully what? So what insight could he provide on geese impacting the flight control system of a helicopter?

    New case against flight tracking

Granted, people have gotten restraining orders by lying. But it wouldn't take Perry Mason to show the police he was not circling above her. You know, because of flight tracking. And then she's in trouble to filing multiple false reports to the police. But instead he sold his plane? I think...

    Plane crash on FL freeway

No, "we" don't need to do anything. There are accident investigators who are more experienced than us and have access to information that we don't have. "We" don't have to do anything but wait until the final report comes out. In the words of Ronald Reagan, "there you go again". One of those...

    Plane crash on FL freeway

Wasn't an attack. Just an observation. And you don't have any "new information". So why don't you list all the incidents in the US where charter aircraft were taken over or crashed by an unvetted passenger. BTW, here's some new information (for you): the flight attendant was one of the 3...

    Plane crash on FL freeway

Interesting... This guy joins and his first post is that we're all in danger of passengers on charter jets using them as weapons. What's next? No unvetted passengers in a 172? Remember that guy who was the aviation god? Demanded that every one call him "Viper". I think this guy will end...

    New case against flight tracking

Do you have an exit from your house through a cave with a hidden exit? Otherwise it's fairly easy for someone to know when you're not at home (if they really want to know).

    Plane crash on FL freeway

Has to? Pretty big fire. And I’m pretty sure Sully had plenty of fuel when both engines stopped.

Reserving N numbers… these companies suck!

Sometimes the simplest solution is the best solution. With the caveat that it applies to reserved N-numbers.

    New case against flight tracking

I like to think that I'm ordinary folk. And you would not have found my personal address if you were to look up my Cessna registration. Although I do think there should be an "opt out" on address information for registering just like there is for a pilot certificate.

Reserving N numbers… these companies suck!

While it's true that anyone could make up a serial number, if on request, they can not produce any documentation that an aircraft is being built, they lose their reservation and any money paid in. Another possible add-on is to limit the number of reservations that a non-manufacture can reserve...

Reserving N numbers… these companies suck!

Not really. If the plane is under construction, there's a serial number. Requiring a serial number would cut down on this type of operation.

    Purchase of an experimental aircraft

It is relatively easy for an attorney to pierce the protection that most people think a corporate veil provides.

    Purchase of an experimental aircraft

The insurance broker that many Velocity owners use is Lima Bravo Aviation Insurance. Lee Blankenship knows about getting Velocity's insured. https://limabravoaviation.com/ As previously stated, other than spending money for no good reason, an LLC offers no benefits to private aircraft...

    New case against flight tracking

Except the address is for the registered agent which is rarely the person traveling in the plane.
