Is there a student pilot license or certificate now? Back in my day it was your medical.

    Most insurable homebuilts under $30k?

I'm not following this. I would think a Velocity would be a "less common" homebuilt. If something gets damaged that I can't buy, I'll make it. Isn't that one of the primary advantages of an E/AB airplane?

    Reel mower for taller grass.

Preach! My dad made me and my brother use reel mower as well (also in Va Beach). He gave up after a while because the results were so bad. Damn thing weighed a ton and I literally couldn’t push it so my older brother had to do it.

Most umbrella policies excludes aviation. We've only had one that didn't and I'm guessing it was an error.

Man who crashed snowmobile into a parked Black Hawk helicopter suing government for $9.5M

Technically, it's an airstrip, not an airport. And it's private property.

Single Engine down in Nashville - KJWN

Not just Canada's recommendation. Also the US Air Force. Their study showed dimmable white lights are superior to red. Unless you're making a ground attack run or dogfighting on a moonless night.

Man who crashed snowmobile into a parked Black Hawk helicopter suing government for $9.5M

According to one article I read, it was a training exercise and they obtained prior permission to land and shutdown on the airstrip.

Man who crashed snowmobile into a parked Black Hawk helicopter suing government for $9.5M

Not sure how you got that. The word "pilot" does not appear in my post at all. Half of the liability is on the owner of the airstrip and the other half is on the guy on the snowmobile.

Man who crashed snowmobile into a parked Black Hawk helicopter suing government for $9.5M

I put the liability equally on the owner of the farm/airstrip who gave permission to the snowmobilers to use the airstrip AND to the Army to land on the airstrip. The other half of the blame goes to the idiot on the snowmobile who was going too fast for conditions.

Alec Baldwin shoots and kills cinematographer.

I read this afternoon that she wasn’t anywhere near the set when this happened. That the assistant director had keys to the armory and got the gun and handed to Baldwin telling him it was unloaded.

Val com 760 slide in replacment

Have you talked to James MacInnes at Val? I had an issue with one of my Val radios (out of warranty) and they took care of it (no charge). This was five years ago so things may have changed there.
