    Hangar prices.

Any idea what 3CK is getting for a T-hangar? I left there 10 years ago and it wasn't too bad.

    Radio LED brightness

I think those old radios used nixie tubes for the display. They get dim with age. Probably can't even find those for that radio anymore. https://spectrum.ieee.org/nixie-tube

Scary High Oil Temps - Lycoming 540

What aircraft? I had a O540 in my 182RG. The oil cooler was located near the firewall with the inlet above the last cylinder on the left side. One day I noticed oil temps were higher than normal. After landing, I couldn't see anything blocking the inlet so I removed to scat tubing between...

    Therma Pen

Call them. They have excellent customer service. When the thermapen I gave my wife years ago failed, I called them up. They apologized and said that while it was WAY out of warranty, they did offer a hefty discount on a replacement. Just don't tell them you used it to lift up meat off the...

ANG F-15 into Canal, Oregon, 5/15/2023, no injuries

Here's what I don't get. The pilot tried the brakes and determined that there was insufficient braking when he was 5,000' down a 10,000' runway. I would have thought 5,000' was plenty of runway to make a go around. Especially if you're still at about 100kts.

Vision jet goes for a swim

All Velocity's are free castering nose wheels. I started designing a steerable nose gear for mine but gave up. I had a similar event with mine while on rollout from landing. Right brake failed and the plane gradually went off the left side of the runway. Missed the the lights and ended up...

    Hearing Mayday Call

I've flown over the area more times than I can count. One of the few places where being over water may be better than being over land. Until you get well over 20nm inland, it's all swamp and pine trees.

    Hearing Mayday Call

Looks like he was trying to turn back to Wakulla. That's an area without a lot of options if you have engine trouble. At night makes it worse.

Coastline Sightseeing Flight out of KECP - Northwest Florida Beaches

I've done the flight from Panama City to Mobile along the coast many times. Sometimes I check in with Tyndall first. Other times I just call up Eglin before entering their airspace. Never had a problem.
