I won the hangar lottery. Bought the new plane, found a hangar a week before buying, moved in and have been very happy. The hangar owner had just put a for rent note up maybe an hour before and I was first to call.

I really miss the Pelican Perch and other great reads from years ago. It’s a bummer they haven’t found a few new writers to take their places.

I flew with a 440/540 about 5 years. Great system. I never used the separate keyboard in flight and almost never on the ground. Using the IFD100 in flight was a pain as I had to switch iPad apps, so I never used it.

I started reading avweb when it started. That was over 30 years ago. If the new owners provide value to me or not will determine if I keep reading- or stop reading and looking at their advertising. So far, I haven’t seen a negative change.

Gosh, I feel like I’m piling on. I’m also an aero engineer. I had, and still after the explanation, have a hard time following the flow. Open question. Short of time in service, what other data is available to use as a predictive indicator? Every annual tracks time.

To add a data point. I just found a leaked Duracell AA in a flashlight I keep in my bag. It stopped working so I went to replace the battery. The cell was completely corroded. It was well inside the good by date and hardly used. It destroyed the $70 light by eating it from the inside.
