Mounting an inclinometer aka slip/skid Ball

Bell, he’s just using it for coordinated flight etc. Not using it like I’ve seen some in slow planes for winds etc. Every Cessna I’ve ever flown was off center.

Mounting an inclinometer aka slip/skid Ball

Went to a buddies hangar today and he’s redone the dash of his experimental “Cub”. He mounted his indicator in the upper left corner. Is it more accurate if it’s mounted in the centerline of the aircraft or does it matter? Trying to get my head wrapped around all of the physics going on there.

Cessna 172 Hard brake line material ??

My mechanic spotted a place on my Right main hard line that’s smashed. It’s been that way for a while. He suggested that we make a new one. He’s super busy, but said “order the line, we will bend it and be done with it. I’m tasked with ordering the line and whatever ferrules I need. I need to...

    28V Vs 12V nav lights …

Bummer. He was going to give me those Orion 600’s for my 172. Guess I’ll have to pass on them.

    28V Vs 12V nav lights …

Dumb question. Can 28V LED nav lights be run on 12V? I just didn’t know if it was built to take 28V or how that works. Friend has some nice 28V WAT nav/strobes but I’m 12v. Thanks.

Grimes LED strobe upgrade options ?

Needs to be a Grimes pattern, doesn’t have to be TSO. I see Aero-Lites Evolution strobes look nice, nobody has any actual reviews or information on them. What else out there is an “affordable” NAV/Strobe for a grimes replacement ? Thanks.

    Car3 Vs FAR?

I would agree with that. Well put. Can I assume you are an IA? You seem very knowledgeable about this stuff.

    Car3 Vs FAR?

There are a lot of misinformed AP’s and Pilots out there. It’s interesting to sit and learn this stuff. Thanks !

    Car3 Vs FAR?

I’m familiar with the terms but practical application, I’m not educated at all about it. Other than a screw in tailbeacon is a major modification which continues to confuse me. Haha. Man I appreciate your answers. I’m learning a lot here. Thanks.

    Car3 Vs FAR?

I’m not disputing anything. It’s just confusing. If there was no wheel size specified in the TCDS it’s hard for a layman like me to understand which to follow.

    Car3 Vs FAR?

Great reply thanks. So…. As it stands, if nothing in his TCDS lists tire and wheel sizes… and it was manufactured in the CAR era… why wouldn’t he be able to use CAR as the basis? If nothing in part 23 overrides or supersedes the CAR3 of his aircraft…. I am also confused why it wouldn’t be legal.

    Car3 Vs FAR?

I’m not sure this is accurate or nobody would buy the Airglas fork to put bigger mains on. They would just put larger mains on. I’m very interested to hear what all you guys have to say about this topic.

    Car3 Vs FAR?

I guess I should ask this. Would a 1963 182 fall under CAR rules ? The reason I ask is this. At a breakfast fly in I saw a 150 on 8.50’s. It was a 1963 150. The guy flys it all over the place into farms etc. I asked how he was able to do that. He stated he was still under CAR rules and that “any...

    Tire size help

Looking at an experimental tricycle gear airplane. A 7.00–6 is a little too tall and a little too fat, and a 6.00–6 seems a little bit short for the application. Is there a tire, even if metric that is a 6 inch wheel that has between these two in height?

    Tailbeacon X ??

flight aware and them do not support the 978 mhz band. If your tracking works, that’s pretty rare. My region doesn’t have ****. We can’t ever have family or friends follow us. It might draw a line for a few miles but that’s it.
