    AggieMike’s Multi Engine questions…

But very few of us have met each other, so how would we know how others would receive what we are trying to transmit?

    AggieMike’s Multi Engine questions…

I guess I just don't understand what you are trying to argue here.

    AggieMike’s Multi Engine questions…

I would agree that whether both are critical or neither is critical is largely academic. But, I do know that a Seneca 1 has a VMC published and it will roll over with either side failed.

Best Methods for Cooling an Engine?

Why don't you just watch the CHT and adjust to whatever your goal? You may very well be able to nose dive your airfield at full power and still be cooling the engine off? If Temps are the goal, watch the temperature gauges.

    AggieMike’s Multi Engine questions…

What does "would most adversely affect" mean to you? Serious question.

    AggieMike’s Multi Engine questions…

Overthinking this. If one engine failing is worse than the other, that is the higher number that is used. If the Numbers match, well then you also use that number. The criteria for publishing VMC is to keep manufactures on the same playing field as much as anything, it is a variable number...

    AggieMike’s Multi Engine questions…

A very common question. The Definition is the engine that "causes the most adverse yaw", so no Critical engine if they are the same.

    AggieMike’s Multi Engine questions…

The "Right Engine is Wrong"... Meaning the right engine on a Seneca is replaced so that there is no critical engine. Remember Critical doesn't mean important, it just means means losing it causes the most Yaw

What good is an ATP rating?

Perhaps you could articulate your question one more time then?

What good is an ATP rating?

So if otherwise qualified, you would go ahead and apply at the commercial instrument pilot with a type rating? Instead of an ATP rated pilot for a type rating in the exact same plane on the same checkride?

What good is an ATP rating?

Type ratings for Turbine aircraft are required regardless of ATP, Commercial Or Private rating. Insurance may want to see a higher level of proficiency. Regardless of Single or Multi Insurance and hiring requirements often trump the FAA requirements. They will however never be less.

    Safety pilot requirements?

Category and class only, and medical. of course if they aren’t qualified to be pic, then they can’t act pic. So they could just log SIc when you’re under the hood.

    Commercial cross country requirements

Always have to review the entire requirements with new commercial students, most are missing something (normally solo night or solo XC) before they get started. Now I try to mention it to my IFR students, that way they can at least know it exists and work it into their plans if they want to go...
