    Jeppesen vs. Government charts

Foreflight specific. If a person subscribes to the Jepp Plates, are the Gov plates still available? Why you ask? Because if I decide that I prefer the Jepp plates, I'll still need to teach the Gov plates, etc.

Commercial pilot requirement question about the long cross country

Right. There are some planes where the insurance company isn't going to allow this, or the school is using it as an excuse and may be getting cheaper insurance out of the deal? They are also getting pay for that CFI that is sitting there not doing anything. You know, the CFI that has done it...

    Let's talk Comanches

Get the 250 or 260. The Unicorn is the 400, which although cool could possibly considered overkill for the airframe. The 180 is a dog.

Commercial pilot requirement question about the long cross country

Yes, now that is the case. So now you can either be scared and pay a CFI to sit there and shutup, or go by yourself. But I am sure most would feel better that they won't screw up, just by having him there. This used to be MEL only for insurance reasons, but it has changed.... So no more solo XC...

Commercial pilot requirement question about the long cross country

It is also the only Solo XC requirement past a PPL rating. I person can be a commercial pilot and this is the only time they have flown a XC by themselves after their PPL rating. Preferred logbook?

Giving you the numbers for the IACRA is perfect too. Which is why I keep both. Electronic MYFlightbook, and then every 3 months or so I add entries to the Paper logbook. Not really necesary since I have a .csv file dumped into my storage for the low price of $25 a year or something... But a...

    Preferred logbook?

And a paper backup if you like. That’s what I do. If you are at all busy as a Cfi, you’re going to want to log flights before you forget. And no one wants to pack around their only paper logbook all day.
