No, it needs to be on the top (which yes you won't see in a a152), but the point is that feeling a sudden break does not mean that the wing is not stalled.
Heh, that is a frequent occurrence for me on landings. I've trained myself to not answer, then call "say again" when I'm done landing even if I know what they said since I should be ignoring it. Train me not to listen, and the controller might learn to wait when it happens enough. I assume they...
The prop accelerates between engine peak compressions based on the shape. With less momentum to make it through the compression, a low inertia prop will be stopped easier.
Metal (Sensenich presumably), or wood, composite, Catto, etc?
The mass of the prop is what would help keep it windmilling. From you're description, something <60Kts is where it stopped then, right?
The big nose of a truck at relatively low speeds is not the same the side of an airplane.
As for the physics, like this whole thread, everyone wants to understand these things in simple terms (aka not a college degree), but they are not that simple. To do the math on the venturi, you need to...
Newton was all about gravity https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gravitational_constant
Gravity is a force. Force = mass x acceleration.
"Weightless space" doesn't really exist, but when we talk about weightlessness, we mean that in some relative environment like a space capsule, everything has...
You have a lot of stuff around the venturi that would affect the flow. To do a better test, you need the venturi far in front of the truck (nosebooms are generally 4 to 6' for a comparison), and you need to not have stuff in front of it for sure.
Just a note on Rod Machado’s book: It is very good, but it is also extremely thorough so much so that it can be overwhelming. You don't have to absorb every piece of knowledge in his book to get a great score on the written.
Flew from Maui pretty much the same route Gary posted above. I flew with an instructor so I didn't need a checkout, and he was a great tour guide in addition of the cool tips like the easy climb over Molokai (windward side of 3000' cliffs). There are some big winds, but they are constant so the...
Alton has a restaurant, but is is on the NE side. Spirit (SUS) or Creve Coeur (1H0) are SW. Grab a crew car if you want to go for food.
Flying past downtown and the Arch is fun. The bluffs along the river north of town are nice from the air.
No I am not. 1) An airplane not moving has zero momentum; 2) A=F/M, doesn't matter how large a value you have for M, any positive F gives you acceleration.
