Anyone flying to a Thanksgiving destination?

94K. Not too shocked that we're the only one in the tiedowns! Bolivar, MO was a nice stop for under $5/gal fuel.

    ATITPPA origin finally discovered?

Isn't that why you made a radio call in the first place. Isn't it just expected that other traffic in the area will also communicate? The idiot bombing around the pattern making calls but not actually listening isn't going to change just because you add a lot of extra words to your radio call.

    Make DST permanent!

I find it sad that in a discussion of sunlight on a pilot board, some people clearly don't know about civil twilight.

    Make DST permanent!

Please set the clock to the wrong time all of the time so I can try to coerce people to get up earlier! Please no, but do stop changing it to the wrong time. If you want to get up an hour early, set your own damn alarm clock early and leave mine alone.

Applying for repairman certificate for EAB partially built

Don't think that has changed, they are Designated Airworthiness Representatives after all.

Applying for repairman certificate for EAB partially built

You can be the primary builder. What the local FSDO will require is highly variable, but definitely have sufficient documentation to show that you did enough building yourself to have the skill to complete the condition inspection. None of the other paperwork really matters relative to the...

    Camp Scholler Tips

We went to the Hangar Bar & Grill on our non-Airventure COVID year trip stopping on the way home from Mackinac Island. Just stop at the FBO and take the crew car down.

Planning a trip to Airventure 2022

Ah, the memories! It was super hot my first OSH, and we were in the non-AC dorms. We laid on the floor to cool off well into the night before moving to the still warm bed! Find someplace to grab a fan after you get there! The windows did open then (1990's), but that doesn't get the hot air out.

OSH22 Attedance - More or less than pre-COVID?

They have done the same extension every single year since the early bird discount started.

    N. Las Vegas Mid-air

Sounds like you were diligent in your duty to watch for traffic, not lucky unless you didn't see him until after he was under you. Sounds like there does need to be some ATC guidance on avoiding the potential for this, but two pilots who should be looking for each other actually doing so is...

    Asheville?

As you know, my wife and I headed to KGKT from the H96 food truck fly-in. The FBO was great. You're more rural, so maybe not as big of a cultural shock, but the high level of friendliness takes some getting used to for me! They have lots of parking with cables and chains for the tie downs. I...

Midwest POA June Brunch: June 22, 2024 1000 CDT, The Jet Room at KMSN, Madison, WI.

Weather looks good, and I was planning to stop at Benton for gas anyway. May as well eat some brunch. Probably won't stay too long as we plan to keep heading to another destination.

If I knew what time the line of TS was going to form. To big of a risk of not being able to get home for me.
