piano keys in cessna 140's, which year models? (and 120's and 170's, etc.)?

I never have really cared for art deco style, but there is something I like about a nicely restored panel from that era in these Cessnas.... Thanks! I was just wondering since I see some photos of panels without the piano keys and I couldn't make sense of it. So basically in the 140 line, the...

piano keys in cessna 140's, which year models? (and 120's and 170's, etc.)?

Were the piano keys used for all year models and variants of the models, or did Cessna change it up at some point?

    I cant find a hangar.

I doubt the pilot on top is likely to go out to the airport for only just 1 or two laps in the pattern on some random evening when the wx is nice and they have a few spare minutes... or even just to go get the thing ready for a big trip "tomorrow". I suppose better than nothing, but seems like...

    EAA life membership value?

that's the one I found at Kitplanes. Way better than anything I found through EAA still not awesome in my opinion.... for example, number of seats. I want to search for say 4 seats, not 3-5 not a big deal, but still.... point is, I'd expect something better..or at least as good...from EAA

    EAA life membership value?

I agree in a way that I get the sense that EAA isn't quite as focused on the "E" part of their name as it seems like they could be... and what part of it they are focused on is much more kit focused, but then that is driven by the market and industry not so much them. Doesn't see as much...

Why Alkaline Batteries are not in my flight bag

me too. Also just an anecdotal observation, but it seems like every time I've dealt with leaking cells, it has been either Duracell or cheap dollar store type stuff. I wonder if there are any scientific studies comparing leaking to battery brand.....

    Anti-collision lights?

that was my thought exactly!!! The ONLY exception that comes to mind is when seeing an aircraft on the ramp with the beacon ON, I know that the prop is probably going to start spinning soon. I find it a bit interesting that with all the rules we have centered around GA flight, and all the time...

    EAA Lifetime Membership - Expired!

funny story! That makes me think about every time I hear a president say something on the world stage in a very matter of fact and absolute certain way... "the US will never do this"... or "the US will always do that...", my inner voice fills in the blanks that "always" or "never" pretty much...

Do you turn around to inspect your run-up spot for leaks?

In a similar thought, every time I've seen this conversation pop back up I've thought of some guy I saw somewhere, probably youtube, with one of those mini-P-51 mustang kits. He mounted small camera in the air scoop as a blindspot taxi-cam. Seen similar setups in other taildraggers too...

    EAA Lifetime Membership - Expired!

I've considered it several times myself...but yeah, why? support EAA with a slug of money...yeah sure, I like that. but yeah, the math don't work, basically just for a sticker..... based on current rates $1,495 per life/48 per year = 31.2 ... so I'd break even when I'm about 90 years old I'd...

    Cirrus chute - all survive

That one looks to be descending in a flater attitude and at a slower rate than other videos of cirrii under chutes I've seen.... maybe I have that wrong... That's a question I've pondered quite a lot. My guess is that it's one of those questions that is easy to second guess...and triple...

    Plastic welding

That oatey stuff is "cement". As far as I know it's like the solvent, or glue....it doesn't contain filler material which is what the abs plastic does that is dissolved in MEK .... that is more like a filler putty Many years back I remember reading an article about using ABS plastic in the...

Any Rans Builders or flyers here?

that's exactly my stance as well. As much as I like the idea of short back country operations for camping and hiking, realistically that's not gonna be my mission. I do like the idea of very slow stall.... but I'd prefer the stability in the bumps over STOL operations.

    Interesting new Florida law.....

I wish I could click thumbs up three times! the whole solution in search of a problem idea... and all of that I will say this though. I've seen a lot of examples throughout all sorts of trades of less-than-ideal something. Sometimes that something is knowledge, sometimes it's discipline...
